Kasia typed away at her work, chopping away at the paperwork, crafting and weaving a simple coupling of campaign notes to present. To her, it droned on, but it still kept her busy.
BUZZ BUZZ
Kasia's phone vibrated on her desk and she lifted it to look at the screen. Khaos' name flashed on the screen, accompanied by texts written in all caps.
"KAS! KASSSS! GET YOUR ASS HERE NOW!"
"Why?" Kasia texed back.In the flash of her screen, Khaos immediately responded. "JUST TAKE A BREAK! GET HERE ASAP!"
Kasia rolled her eyes with a gentle smile. She could never tell if she was serious with her yelling over text. And if she was truly in distress, Kasia wouldn't know. God help her.
Kasia saved her progress and packed her purse, heading out for her lunch break, maybe it'd be best to kill two birds with one stone.
As the Oasis Café came into view, Kasia pushed in the door, the familiar aroma of coffee filled her nostrils. The café was relatively quiet in the mid-afternoon, only a couple patrons sat with their laptops or books, whatever they had on hand.
Khaos stood near the end of the coffee bar, waving Kasia over, her tail flicking back and forth with excitement. Kasia raised a brow, shuffling her way over to where Khaos stood near the counter.
"What's got you all frazzled, Spikes?" Kasia asked, leaning on the counter along with her impish friend.
Khaos' eyes were wide and wild, a grin on her face as she pointed to the quieter back of the café, where an older man sat in one of the booths.
"What'd you need me here fo-"
"Do you know who that is?" Khaos turned fully to Kasia, still pointing back to the booth.
Kasia looked back at the man. His appearance was slightly mangled and unkempt. His messy, black hair looked unbrushed, but not mangled. His heavy bangs held heavier set eyes with eye bags that rivaled Kasia's in prominence. Rough was an understatement for the man. His face was adorned with a metal eye patch and his right limbs were replaced with metal, cyber prosthetics.
Kasia raised her brows. "Is he a hero?" she asked.
"He kinda is." Khaos shrugged, her face shifting to a gentler smile. "Go up to him..."
Kasia sighs and moves to clear past the coffee bar before she felt Khaos' tail tap her back lightly.
"He was Deku and Bakugo's teacher, Kas." She added, motioning for her to continue.
Kasia breathed in deep not before making her way to the back booth where the man sat. A small bundle of panic shivered down her spine at the aura the man gave off.
What if he was dangerous? Like...
Kasia stopped the thought before it went on any longer, looking back at Khaos for support. Khaos nodded at her encouragingly, giving her two thumbs as she moved back to her station behind the counter.
"Sir?" she asked, moving the rest of the way.
The man looked up at her, his expression sullen and empty. "Yes? You are?" he tilted his head, taking a sip of the coffee that sat on the table.
Kasia's thoughts shuffled around in her head. "I'm Kasia Takeo...sir." She relayed.
The man nodded. "Shouta Aizawa." He looked at her, his black eyes darting at her features. "And, I know who you are. My kids---...my former students, have told me about you. Especially Deku since you work for him. Is he a good boss?" Mr. Aizawa asked.
