The pale winter light filled Evita's room, casting a soft glow over the polished surfaces and ornate furnishings that perfectly matched her meticulous tastes. She folded her robes with care, each one neatly placed in her trunk in preparation for her return to Hogwarts.

A faint, hesitant cough sounded behind her, and Evita glanced up to see the small, wiry figure of Guppy, the family's house elf. He held a sealed letter in his trembling hands, looking up at her with anxious eyes.

"Yes, Guppy?" she asked, already sounding exasperated.

Guppy cleared his throat nervously. "A letter for you, Miss Evita. Came with the owl this morning."

With a sigh, Evita extended her hand, her fingers tapping in impatience. "Well, give it here, then." She took the letter, barely glancing at Guppy as she waved him away. "You can go now."

Once alone, Evita's brows drew together as she turned the letter over in her hands. The insignia on the envelope caught her eye—a seal she immediately recognized as belonging to the Potter family.

A letter from James Potter? Her first reaction was disbelief, tinged with annoyance. Their past encounters had never been civil, let alone friendly. The thought of him writing to her—of all people—was baffling, and yet here it was, staring back at her, daring her to open it.

Curiosity mixed with skepticism as Evita unfolded the letter, revealing James' surprisingly readable scrawl. The words were straightforward, free of the expected annoyed tone she had come to associate with him. Instead, it held a matter-of-fact announcement regarding their upcoming tutoring session. A flicker of annoyance crossed Evita's features. Why was he being so civil?

Dear Evita,

Hope this letter finds you in one piece. I've consulted the stars, read the tea leaves, and deciphered Professor McGonagall's cryptic messages – our next Transfiguration tutoring session is set for Thursday at 6 PM.

I know, I know, it's the highlight of your week. Try not to get too excited.

Brace yourself for an enlightening experience. Minnie seems convinced I can sprinkle some magic dust on your Transfiguration skills. Bless her optimistic heart.

Looking forward to witnessing your unparalleled brilliance in action (again). Oh, and your impeccable taste in fashion—red, huh? Classic Gryffindor color, but who am I to judge? Maybe it's a secret longing to join the ranks of the lions. Who wouldn't want to be part of such an esteemed house?

Anyway, can't wait to enlighten you with my prodigious Transfiguration wisdom. Until then, keep basking in the glory of your holiday festivities.

Yours sarcastically,

James

Evita stared at the letter, a mixture of surprise and annoyance flickering across her features. How in Merlin's ball sack did Potter know about the color of her dress at Narcissa's engagement party? The audacity of the Gryffindor was reaching new heights.
