Everyone you know is obsessed with Harry Potter. The boy who lived, the chosen one. But quite frankly, you couldn't really see what all the fuss was about. He was just a normal kid, who happened to have a scar on his head. All the girls would blush as he walked past, all the boys wanted to be friends with him, and everyone wanted to talk to him. Everyone but you.
"I just don't see it," you would say when a friend asked you, "I mean he's good looking don't get me wrong, and his eyes are really really blue and pretty but.....that's it."
That was, until one night. You had been invited to a party in the Gryffindor common room. At first you didn't really want to go, but your Gryffindor friend Hermione Granger had begged you to go, so you did your hair and makeup, got changed into your favourite dress and made your way up to the Gryffindor tower. You made your way over to the painting at the end of the corridor and knocked on the portrait door, the frame opening almost instantly. An extremely tall ginger boy you knew to be Fred Weasley appeared behind the door.
"Ahh, Y/n Y/l/n," he smirked down at you, looking you up and down before opening the door a little more, "come on in."
You thanked him and walked through the portrait hole, him shutting the door behind you. You were one of the final people to enter the party, and music was playing on the speakers quite loud. There were banners hung all around the room, confetti along the floor and party cups stacked on a table near the fireplace, many different drinks available.
"Y/n!" You heard a familiar voice making its way over to you, and when you turned, you saw Hermione Granger making her way through the crowd.
"Hermione hi!" You beamed, giving her a hug, which she returned. Hermione pulled away and grabbed your arm.
"Wanna dance?" She asked and you agreed, Hermione leading you to the dance floor.
The two of you danced for most of the night. Having drinks and conversation with multiple people. It was a fun night, and you were glad Hermione had begged you to come. Eventually, the early hours of the morning had come along and most of the guests had either gone back to their common rooms, or upstairs to bed.
You, Hermione and a few other students were now sat on the sofas around the fireplace, the music still playing, but not as loud.
"Okay, this party is officially boring," Ginny Weasley sighed from her position on Dean Thomas' lap, "who wants to play a game?" Most of the room nodded and Ginny stood up, grabbing an empty bottle of firewiskey from the table.
"Okay, spin the bottle," she spoke, holding the bottle up with a smirk on her lips, "seven minutes in heaven. Who's going first?"
George Weasley was the first to spin the bottle. Then the bottle was passed around to each person around the coffee table, each couple climbing into the cupboard for seven minutes in heaven. Whether or not they actually did make out was only sometimes noticeable, but the game was fun nonetheless. And soon, it was your turn.
"Y/n, your turn," Lavender Brown spoke, passing you the bottle and you smiled, taking it from her. You took a deep breath before placing the bottle down and spinning it. The brown bottle spun round and round in an anticlockwise circle almost twenty times before it even started to slow down. When it did, the bottle spun a few more times before stopping on one particular boy.
"Harry Potter, looks like you two are gunna have some fun," Ginny smirked, and you looked up at the raven haired boy, who eyes didn't leave you until the two of you stood up, making your way over to the storage cupboard a few feet away.
The two of you stepped inside, shutting the door behind you. The music was now muffled, and the only sound was the two of you breathing. You had had quite a few drinks by now and the atmosphere mostly disappearing had suddenly made you quite aware of the fact that you were lightly buzzed. You took a deep breath, folding your arms across your chest and messing with your necklace. Neither of you had spoken since you entered the cupboard, and after around a minute, Harry was the first to speak.
"So, are we gunna do this?" He asked, looking down at you, and you looked up. You didn't know whether it was the alcohol, or the fact that you were now only about an inch away from each other, but you felt your cheeks become quite warm as he spoke.
His black fluffy hair was covering his forehead, his scar only slightly visible. His eyes bore into you as if he was searching for something other than just an answer. You were so close you could smell his cologne, and you could feel his breath fanning your face. His shirt had become quite lazy throughout the party and all you could think about was the fact that you could see his collar bone from your eye-line; a few of his shirt buttons had been undone.
You felt your heartbeat quicken and no words came from your mouth. All you did was stare up at him. His strong jawline, his bright blue eyes and the slight stubble that was growing on his chin. And the fact that he was over half a foot taller than you of course made him even more attractive.
"Y/n?" Harry spoke again when you didn't answer him.
"What?" You managed to speak quietly. You had no idea why, but Harry made you slightly nervous. Maybe it was the alcohol, but you wanted to kiss him. And when Harry leaned down a little, you felt your breath hitch in the back of your throat.
"Do you want me to kiss you?" He asked, his voice a little lower and slightly seductive. You felt yourself nod slightly. Harry leaned over and closed his eyes, pressing his lips onto yours. You felt yourself kiss him back instantly. The kiss Harry and yourself were enduring felt euphoric. It was like nothing you had ever experienced before. Harry lifted his hand to cup your chin gently, and he slid his tongue into your mouth.
It felt as though your lips fit perfectly as one, like two puzzle pieces fitting seamlessly together. The warmth of his lips made your stomach swirl and though the kiss was soft, a part of it felt passionate and intense. His lips caressed yours in a way no one else's had. You could feel your heart in your throat as you placed your hands on his chest, stepping up onto your tiptoes to draw yourself closer to him.
Harry moved his hand to the back of your head, making sure you didn't hit your head as he pushed you back against the wall behind you. His hands moved down to your waist and you wrapped your arms around his neck, continuing to kiss him, not wanting to stop your tongues dancing in each others mouths.
The two of you had become so caught up in the tranquility of the moment that it felt like you were the only two people in the world. And when a loud bang came from the door, both of you almost jumped out of your skin. You had forgotten there were people outside the door.
"Times up!" Ginny's voice echoed from outside, and the two of you pulled apart slowly. His hands were still on your waist, and your arms around him as the two of you stared into each others eyes for a second before the door swung open, and you both looked away, heat rising to your cheeks as everyone outside the door looked into the cupboard.
You now knew why everyone liked him. You knew why all those girls wanted to snog him. Harry wasn't what you'd expected. He was gentle, but still passionate. And for some reason, Harry didn't want all those girls that gave him so much attention, he only wanted you.
