The sound of the front door closing and laughter coming from downstairs awoke you from your sleep.
You looked at the clock to find that it was well after midnight but it was no surprise to you that Ariana was just now getting home.
She's been so busy lately and she's been working hard at so many different projects.
As much as you miss her, you're incredibly understanding of her job and how many hours she spends away.
So the only thing you wanted right now, despite your exhaustion, was to go give your girl a big hug.
You got out of bed and headed down the stairs.
A smile tugged at your lips when you heard Ariana's laugh... but then you heard an unfamiliar laugh coming from the kitchen too and your heart almost stopped.
You followed the sound and peeked into the kitchen to see someone you didn't know sipping water out of a glass from the cupboard.
They were making small talk, nothing huge or secretive so you weren't too concerned.
You figured it was some new friend of hers and planned to go in there and greet Ari with a kiss, just to be sure that her friend got the hint.
But you watched as she stepped closer to your girlfriend and began to get touchy.
"Uh..." Ariana paused and forgot what she'd been saying. "So, as I was saying,"
You watched her new friend laugh at whatever your girlfriend was saying and put her hand on her arm.
She gently dragged her fingertips across Ariana's arm and took a few more sips of her water.
While it was only a friendly gesture to Ariana, it was the opposite for you.
You noticed that the woman was laughing at everything your girlfriend said, kept caressing her, kept being touchy with her, and seemed to be getting a little too close to her.
You came into the kitchen a moment later because you'd had enough.
"Get out."
"Baby, hey. I can explain. This is-"
"I don't care!" You interrupted Ariana, glaring at her new friend. "You're being very touchy with my girlfriend and I don't like it nor do I like you. So get out."
You wrapped your arms around Ariana and pulled her close as you watched her friend put her hands up in defense.
"Fine. See you around, Ari,"
"You won't. Have a good night though!" You called out and locked the door as she walked out.
Ariana looked confused as you stepped back into the room.
"What was that?"
"That? Oh, sorry. I guess it was me being very upset about someone being touchy with my girl!"
Ariana gazed at you for a few seconds before she giggled.
"Something funny? Do you want me to call your new friend back in here so you two can joke around and laugh again?"
She shook her head with a smile before wrapping her arms around you.
"No, I just think it's cute how jealous you are."
"Jealous? Me? I don't know what you're talking about."
She rolled her brown eyes at you.
"You've always been a terrible liar. But you also don't need to lie to me, baby. Everyone gets jealous sometimes."
"I'm not jealous. She's just a pain in the neck. That laugh is incredibly annoying and I just don't know how to make it clear that I don't like anyone else touching you like that. Is that a crime or something?"
"No. That's what I'm trying to say. It's okay that you're jealous. I actually think it's kinda sexy." She said as her eyebrows raised playfully and suggestively.
You folded your arms over your chest.
"Alright, you can stop with the attitude. I know you're jealous and upset."
You sighed and she brushed her fingers across your arms to try and get you to relax.
"Y/N, you have no reason to be jealous."
"Well, my mind wandered, okay? I have never met this friend of yours! I wake up to laughter in the kitchen and I come downstairs and see her touching you like that."
"I understand that must've caught you off guard and upset you. I'm sorry, I should've said something to you. I shouldn't have let her come over like that. But she was thirsty and I was just trying to be nice."
"I get it."
"I told her I have a girlfriend. I met her through one of my producers and she's just a new friend, I swear. I'd never cheat on you, baby."
You knew you could trust her on that.
"Well, no matter how jealous I get, I know that you'd never do that to me. But my mind gets carried away from me sometimes and I was just worried. I saw her touching you and it freaked me out."
And nodded before pulling you in for a hug.
"I should've set boundaries before. I'm sorry I didn't. But I made it very clear that I'm taken. I went on and on about you."
You laughed.
"Whether she has a thing for me or she was just being friendly, I'll find the truth out and set boundaries immediately. I'm so sorry I made you worry and feel this way."
"It's okay. I'm sorry I got angry with you and that I had a bad attitude. I'm sorry I got so jealous."
"The jealousy part was kinda hot, baby, don't worry about that." She smirked and you let out another laugh. "I love you. You can always trust me, never forget that."
"I won't. I love you too."
She pulled you in for a kiss, a soft sigh escaping her lips when you began to melt into her.
"You know what? This is not how I wanted to spend the few minutes I get with you when I get home. I'm calling off tomorrow to spend time with you."
Your eyes sparkled and it melted her heart.
"I'd love that."
"Me too." She said before pecking your lips a few times.
She took your hand and walked upstairs with you, both of you looking forward to spending tomorrow together.
