"Alright, baby. We're home." You said as you closed and locked the front door behind you and Ariana. "Let me help you get your shoes off."
"It's okay, I'm fine. I can do it myself." She insisted.
You had a feeling that this wasn't the greatest idea since she was in heels and could hardly hold herself up but she was pushing your hands away any time you attempted to help her and there was only so much you could do.
So you kept your hands close to her so you could quickly grab ahold of her in case she needed you.
As she went to undo the straps of her right heel, she ended up losing her balance and you managed to grab her before she could hurt herself.
"You can't do it on your own, baby. You're too drunk." You said before leading her to the sofa. "Come on, sit down and I'll help you out of them."
She hummed as you helped her to the couch and once she was sitting down and you knew she was safe, you began to undo her heels.
And after a few seconds, you finally got them off of her feet.
A yawn escaped from her lips and she closed her eyes before lying down on the sofa.
"Ari, baby, I'm sure you're tired and the alcohol is starting to catch up to you but we need to get you upstairs."
She shook her head.
"Ariana, you'll be cozier there and you can get out of this dress."
"But Mommy, I want to stay here," She whined and opened her eyes to look at you, a pout appearing on her face.
You looked at her with a mix of shock and confusion.
"What did you call me?"
It seemed to click that she'd call you mommy, something she'd never done before.
A smirk tugged at her lips but it was hard to melt the way you usually do when she looks at you that way simply because she looked so intoxicated and so adorable.
"Mommy," She replied. "Do you like it when I call you that?"
You didn't reply and instead, tried to focus on getting her up to bed.
"Come on, Ari. Let's get you out of this dress."
"If that's what mommy wants, I won't say no." She said before going to tug at the hem of her dress, ready to take it off and toss it on the floor.
You could see that she had a gleam in her eyes and she thought you meant something very different than you did when you said that you needed to get her out of her dress.
"No!" You said before gently grabbing her hand. "That's not what I meant."
"Oh." She pouted before biting her lip and looking into your eyes again. "Are you sure? I can call you mommy more if that'll change your mind, sexy girl,"
You tried not to laugh, doing everything you could to stop yourself.
"You're drunk, it's not right." You explained before kissing her forehead. "But I do love you and I promise, when you're not hungover, I'll make it up to you."
"I'm not hungover."
"Not yet but you will be in the morning." You chuckled. "Will you please come to bed?"
"No, I think I'll sleep right here." She yawned and closed her eyes.
"In your dress and makeup and everything?"
She nodded with a drunken smile.
You sighed because you knew that she was already falling asleep and there was no point in trying to get her upstairs now.
You sat down on the chair across the room and put your head back against it before closing your heavy eyes.
The exhaustion was hitting you hard but then again, you had woken up at two am to pick her up when her friends said that she needed to come home because she was too drunk to stay at the party they were having tonight.
So it didn't take long for you to fall asleep.
But you were ready to wake up again if Ariana needed you at any moment, more than ready to care for her, and then when she sobers up, try and confront her about how she'd called you mommy more than just once tonight when she was drunk.
It would make for a very interesting and amusing conversation tomorrow, that was for certain.
