It was a regular day at Hogwarts, slightly cold outside as January rolled in. You could hear students muttering warming charms on themselves.
You already had a feeling that today was going to be a bad day, there was something stirring at the bottom of your stomach, telling you that today was just full of bad luck and misfortune.
You sat beside Blaise in muggle studies, your best friend. Being beside him was almost already making you feel better. His warm presence soothing you, yet something still made your heart beat nervously when you were with him.
Blaise turned his head, his brown eyes catching the sight of yours. His mouth opened, but before any words could escape a female voice interrupted.
"Hi Blaise! I love your piercing!" She said sweetly, her voice coated with honey yet you felt bitter.
Blaise narrowed his eyes unexpectedly at her, "uh, thank you." He replied awkwardly, almost dryly.
She continued complimenting him, you sat beside Blaise silently. You felt ignored and it bothered you, you wanted Blaise's attention to be on you. You felt jealous, lifting your hand up you found Blaise's hand began playing with his fingers, waiting to see what he would do.
Blaise noticed and he turned his head for a second to smirk at you, yet the conversation didn't break with the girl.
"Sooo, how about a date sometime? At three broomsticks or wherever?" She asked as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
You boiled further into jealousy and couldn't help but give Blaise's hand a squeeze, Blaise squeezed your hand back in response.
"Nah, I got a girl." Blaise said as he tilted his head at you. What did he say? Your heart flutters nervously at his words, but you stay quiet trying to play it off.
The girl left and Blaise straightened his back turning his full attention towards you, you moved your hand away from him trying to pretend it never happened. "Are we going to talk about that?" Blaise asked his eyes never straying away from you, while you on the other hand struggled to maintain eye contact.
"Talk about what? There's nothing to talk about." You said, shrugging your shoulders.
"Oh nah, clearly there is something to talk about." Blaise said as he reached for your hand, he didn't give you a second to reach away, he held your hand not letting it go.
"There's nothing to talk about." You repeated once again, the class ended as soon as you had said those words. You ripped your hand away from Blaise's quickly trying to avoid further questions about it.
——
It had only been about two hours since you had last seen Blaise, you were in your dorm sitting in your bed feeling practically embarrassed for the way you had acted earlier.
You heard three knocks on your door, you contemplated opening it and the risk of it being Blaise but you can't avoid it forever.
You slipped out of bed and walked over to the door before opening it. His tall figure instantly gave him away, his hand instantly reached for the door widening it to invite himself in.
"We're going to talk about it." Blaise said plainly, like there was no further space to discuss otherwise. He closed the door behind him.
"There's nothing to talk about! She was just pestering you so I just figured I would help you." The excuse slipped out of your mouth quickly but Blaise furrowed his eyebrows.
"No, you're going to tell me the truth." Blaise said as he stepped closer towards you.
"What truth is there to tell?" You almost stumbled on your words.
"That you were jealous." Blaise said, his grin widening.
"What? I wasn't jealous?" You said both scoffing and laughing nervously.
"Wrong, you didn't want me going out with her."
"No, I... you can do whatever you want." You said, but secretly it was gnawing at you.
Blaise shook his head, "I'll ask again, were you jealous?" He asked his head tilting, waiting for a more truthful answer this time.
"Oh please, if the roles were reversed you would've been fine, so it doesn't matter."
"Nah, I wouldn't have been." Blaise said, this captures your attention and you look up at him.
"What?"
"Every guy that touches you, talks to you, hell even alone look at you, I try not to lose my shit. So no, I wouldn't have been fine, but I would've been able to tell you that." You don't reply so Blaise sighs.
A beat of silence washes over the both of you.
"So, were you jealous?" He asks once again, you huff too embarrassed to say it, so you nod your head.
Blaise's grin spreads widely, before he leans in and kisses you. Cupping your face with one hand.
