Ren and Hana

"Yep."

I looked down at Hana and my fingers brushed the lace ribbons in her hair and I asked,"Do you want to do something after this?"

She looked at me and I felt better when I saw the relief in her eyes compared to the dead and sad look in her eyes a few  hours before.

"I have time. Shiro is at a friends place and I don't really want to go home to an empty house. I know a good place to eat. Do you want to go with me?"

I nodded just feeling happy that she was the one offering to go somewhere with me. I stared at her hand that was at her side and I felt tempted to grab it.

Would she reject me or would she simply push me away or would she think nothing of it and let me?

I shyly moved and my fingers brushed her hand and she didn't react. I tried again and this time she noticed and she didn't swat my hand away.

Maybe she has feelings for me after all? I smiled and then glanced at her face and a small smile lit my face when I saw that her pale face had some color in it.

We entered the cafe and she dragged me to a table way in the corner of the cafe and bought two sweet breads and two hot chocolates.

I bought them and Hana protested against it and I stood firm. It's my job as the guy to pay and just because she is slighlty older than me doesn't mean that i'm a child.

We sat down and she began nibbling at her melon bread and i was content just watching her nibble on the bread and take tiny sips from her drink.

"Ren. Thank you very much. I don't know what I would have done if I had gone alone. I  probably would be crying by now."

"Tell me Hana why did that guy do to make you so upset?" I asked and I saw a  dark emotion show in her deep eyes and I said,"I won't judge you and you don't have to tell me if you dont want to I just want to konw."

She took in a deep breath and said,"Kannon was the first person that I had ever dated. He was so kind and sweet to me and I was a bit of a hermit back then. I was dazzled by him and I didn't notice that he would never invite me to parties after his team would win a match and I never thought mush of anything. He treated me so kindly and I never felt sad while I was with him. I'm so stupid aren't I? I should have noticed that he wasn't a good person but, I was madly infatuated with him so I didn't notice. Saru the girl that was with him used to be my best friend. We did everything together and I always confided my secrets to her and I never thought of her as the back stabbing type."

She gave a little humorless laugh,"Kannon was the first one to kiss me and Saru was always supporting me and I never thought that they would betray me together. One day I bought a teddy bear with chocolates for Kannon for valentines day and I cut school to see him. I let myself into his apartment and then I sat on the bed patiently waiting to surprise him."

She began to fiddle with her hair and she continued,"I heard strange noised and he came in the room holding a shirtless Saru in his arms."

She put her face in her hands and her small delicate shoulders began to tremble and I felt for her.

I reached over and held her against me and she rested her head in my shoulder and trembled. She didn't cry but, she did shiver and I couldn't blame her.

If my first love had done that to me i don't know what I would have done. Would I have been able to see his face ever again knowing that she had cheated on me with my best friend?

She sighed and then drew back her warmth leaving me and she said,"I'm sorry. i'm twenty four years old and yet I'm still crying about my first love. Pathetic isn't it?"

"I don't think it's pathetic. He hurt you in a very cruel manner and it's only natural that it would hurt. I don't know how you could stand being in the same room as him."

She chuckled and said,"Thank you. Your a nice guy Ren."

She rested her head on my shoulder and I said,"I'm only nice because your the one I want to impress. I like you so it's only natural that I want to make sure that you only see my good side."

She laughed openly and My gaze went to her lips and there is stayed until my eyes closed and my lips made contact with hers.

"Ren!" She exclaimed and then blushed and rubbed at her lips and I said,"I love you Hana. Its only natural that I would want to kiss you."

"Man................................................................. Its late could you please walk me home?" WE stood up and I took her home and she said,"I'm glad that I asked you to take me to the party. I'm grateful that there is a person like you in the world. Bye Ren."

She left and I walked home with a big smile on my face. Even if my parents are mad at me I can't stay anywhere else and I have already imposed on a lot of people so my parents will have to forgive me.
