Pulling my long burgundy cloak tighter around my frame and fastening the string connecting the tips of the dense fabric tighter, I slip past the small clusters of Zaunains, large clouds of smoke billowing from their mouths. Scrunching my nose in disgust as the pungent odor reaches my senses, I quicken my pace ever so slightly. The neon signs and loud music breaks up the dim and depressing aura of the undercity, small puddles of dark water reflecting shadowed faces and large store names. Stray surviving animals race through the small alleyways, knocking over loose items and startling other people.

Rounding the corner, avoiding the few drunks and large crates, I step out in a large courtyard, a green neon sign illuminating the majority of the area. Stepping carefully, I make my way towards the door just underneath the sign displaying in large words. The Last Drop. Approaching the wooden door, I grab the handle and pull harshly, swinging the heavy door towards me, revealing the large tavern. Stepping into the threshold, I shake some of the cold from my body, allowing the heat of the large room to warm my skin, creating goosebumps at the sudden temperature change.

As I undo the strings of my cloak, I spot Felicia and Silco sitting on stools at the bar while Vander cleans a few beer mugs just behind the counter. As I walk towards them, Vander looks towards me at my footsteps, smiling.

"Thought you might've gotten lost there." He jokes, causing the two others to turn.

"Nah, just had to take a bit of a detour." Silco furrows his brow slightly in worry. "Nothing to worry about though." I add, coming to stand behind him and place a kiss on his cheek, brushing his bangs slightly out of the way. Felicia laughs, sliding off her stool to make her way towards the large jukebox on the other side of the room. Folding my cloak, I place it on the counter before sliding into the chair beside Silco, just a few away from where Felicia had been sitting.

"Sure you're alright?" I hear Silco ask, placing a bandaged hand on my lower back, leaning in closer.

"Mhm hm." I nod, smiling. "Perfectly fine." He smiles back, caressing my back for a moment before returning back to his work. The clinking of a coin captures my attention before a song begins to play. It's a nice tune, upbeat but slow.

"What's the occasion?" Vander calls out to our friend. I hear her softly laugh to herself before answering, turning around with a cheeky smile.

"Can't a lady be in the mood for a familiar song?"

"Not this lady." Vander replies with a laugh, throwing his rag onto his shoulder. "And not this song." He places the mug under the counter along with the rag before grabbing four special glasses. I watch her sway to the music, her movement slow and expressive. Vander uncorks a bottle before pouring an equal amount of red liquid into the glasses, laughing to himself as she slowly dances her way towards us. I hear the scratching of Silcos pen as he continues his work as Felicia slides back onto her barstool and pulls one of the glasses towards her, rubbing her thumb along the gold rim. Vander picks up his own, swirling the liquor around.

"Tongint, a hairbrained scheme these two bozos cooked up to turn a faint crack in the earth into a thriving, healthy, community, became a reality." As she speaks, I grab mine and Silcos glasses, placing his just in front of his journal, before raising my own and cheersing with Vander and Felicia.

"Tonight aye? You hear that bozo two?" Vander turns to Silco, who continues to slowly eat his dinner, not taking his eyes off his book. "We made it. We are done." I hear him sigh, picking up a different container, waving it around slightly.

"Oh, you're sadly mistaken." I look at him questioningly as he turns his gaze to us, a hint of playfulness in his eyes. "I'm bozo one." Shaking my head, I laugh with the rest of them.

"A night of revelations." Vander holds his glass out to Silco before taking a drink from it, myself following suit, grinning as Silco rolled his eyes before also taking a drink. I watch out of the corner of my eyes as Felicia again thumbs the rim of the glass, not drinking from it.

"I'm knocked up." I choke slightly on my drink, squeezing my eyes as I attempt to cough the liquid out of my lungs. The three of them look to me alarmed, but I quickly wave them off.

"I-I'm fine." I cough out, one hand holding my chest while the other is waved in front of me. Feeling Silco place his hand once again on my back, he rubs it slightly in consultation as Vander reaches under the counter, pulling up a metal cup filled with orange juice. Grabbing the smaller glass he slides it out of the way, to then place her new drink on the counter in front of her, dropping a metal straw into the juice. She smiles at, nodding to Vander in appreciation before grabbing it.

"A girl." She states, swirling the straw around a few times.

"How do you know?" I ask, scooting my chair slightly closer. She glances at me.

"Hmm." She shrugs. "Wasn't really part of my plan but I guess that's everything when you're living week to week." I hear Silco close his journal before grabbing his glass and pulling his chair to sit directly behind mine, allowing me to lean my back into his chest.

"What did Connol say?" Vander asks.

"I haven't told him." Felicia places the cup back onto the counter, crossing her arms on the polished wood. "Working up the nerve." A moment of silence passes, the three of us not knowing quite what to say. I feel one of Silcos hands on my arm, gently caressing it as Felicia plays with the end of her braid before moving her hand to rub the back of her neck, leaning her head forward.

"I don't know anything about kids. I get sweaty being alone with one."

"Hey." Vander speaks suddenly, gaining her attention. "You're gonna be a great mother."

"Shut up." She laughs. "I'm not ready for that." She begins to play with her straw again. "I started trying to come up with a name. And it hits me that this one...word...is a decision she's gonna live with her whole life." Another beat of silence, the music being the only noise apart from outside disturbances. "I can't protect her from all the shit down here, and work out how to be a parent at the same time." She sighs before smiling. "Then, I realized, I don't have to."

"Huh? Why's that?" Vander asks after taking another drink, squinting his eyes slightly in suspicion.

"Because the second I told you three I put you on the hook." She turns to me, smirking.

"You two are gonna figure this Zaun thing out." She points to the two men. "I don't care if you have to carve it out of the rock covered in blisters. You're not allowed to fail anymore." She says firmly. "For her," she nods downwards, "for us." She again glances at me, smiling, her eyes darting to Silcos hand still on my arm.

"What's the point if we can't raise an anklebiter or two?" Vander smiles, looking between his brother, Felicia and me. Silco laughs, grabbing his glass and raising it for a toast.

"To Zaun then." The rest of us grab and raise our own drinks. "Blisters and bedrock." He adds. I touch my glass to his.

"Blisters and bedrock." We clink our glasses together before taking drinks.

"You know, I've always liked the name violet." Felicia sips from her straw before looking to Vander and smiling.
