A gentle and warm hand on my shoulder slowly roused me from my nap on the bar counter. Groaning in protest, I attempted to bury my face back into my overlapping arms and the soft material of my cloak.

"Come on now darling. You can go back to sleep in a proper bed." I hear Silco attempt to coax me to move.

"Five more minutes..." I yawn, shifting my head to face him, my eyes remaining closed. A low chuckle escapes him as he rubs my shoulder, gently shifting his hand to the small of my back, then to my waist.

"How about I just get Vander to come kick us out?" He jokes, pulling on my waist, effectively drawing me into an upright sitting position. Leaning back, I lolled my head onto his shoulder, feeling his other hand slip onto my waist and gently hug me while burying his nose in my hair. I hum softly, reaching my hands up to hold his, squeezing them affectionately. He hums in response, nuzzling the side of my head.

"We should get going before it gets too late darling." I feel a gentle kiss pressed just above my hairline, and a squeeze to my abdomen.

"Fine." I whine, fluttering my eyes open reluctantly to meet his piercing blue gaze. We both smile at the eye contact, such a small but meaningful gesture.

"Come on Darling." Taking one of my forearms, he pulls me off the chair and into his side, the smell of leather and a more floral aroma filling my senses. I whine in playful protest as he gently wraps my cloak around my shoulders, fastening the tie in front to keep it in place. Linking his hand with my own, he wraps his arm around my waist, squeezing once before taking the lead, guiding us towards the wooden door.

Warm. That's all I could feel at that moment. Blissful warmth from the man loved most in life.

...

Cold. Frigid angry rain pelted down onto my (f/c) leather jacket.

Agony. That's all I could feel as I sprinted down the wharf of the undercity, desperate to find Silco and Vander. My vision was a blur as I relied on my subconscious to guide my frantic pace, splashing through large puddles and dashing around piles of empty crates. A loud yell somewhere in the distance, near the water's edge causes me to misstep, caught off guard by the sudden anguished cry. I fell to the ground, my forearms scraping against the cobblestone ground, my knees screaming in pain from the impact and the sudden rest. Pushing upwards, my shaking hands pressed firmly against the ground, I attempted to blink away the water from my eyes, but it kept coming, they kept coming.

Salty tears poured down my face, mixing and mingling with the freezing rain. My chest ached with every breath my lungs attempted to suck in, like a fire running out of fuel. The world was spinning, or maybe I was spinning. Maybe I was dreaming. The cold seeping into my imagination from the empty spot on the bed beside me. No, I was awake. The rain and hurt was real. Shakily climbing to my feet, my gaze dances along the coast line, determined but frantic to find any sight of them. Wobbling steps carried me to the roads edge, metal pipes catching my hands and hips as I stumble forward suddenly. Then I saw it, saw them. Vanders' large and intimidating figure was hunched over, arms bicep deep into the dark and rough waters, seemingly holding something under. Or someone.

"VANDER!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, a cough then racking through me. But he doesn't seem to hear me, or just ignores me, as he shifts in place. "VANDER!" I scream again, desperate for any acknowledgment. "WHERE'S SILCO!?" This catches his attention. I watch his face appear over shoulder, face screwed up in agony, before looking back down at the water's surface.

"No..." My heart stops. What was he doing!? "VANDER STOP!" I cry out, but he ignores me once again. My knuckles turn white as I grip the rusting metal pipe. My body prepares to act, leaning forward further onto the railing, about to jump the few feet down into the water, but I'm stopped. He begins to struggle, a pair of hands from below the dark oceans surface and grip his arms, one hand slipping up to push harshly against his face, while the other dips below the surface again, reaching for something.

I gasp in surprise when it pops back out with a knife and imbeds it into Vanders shoulder, causing him to lurch back in pain. Silco, sopping wet, emerges from the water, the right half of his face distorted and a mess. Vander attempts to lunge forward and push him back into the water, but Silco slashes at his arm, creating large and deep gashes, deterring Vander from any other advances. Vander stumbles backwards, trying to retain his balance but failing as he slips to his knee. Silco stares at him before trudging away through the water, back to land. Vander attempts to stand, reaching out to the man he tried to kill, his brother, but he falls back into the murky water, it seems his leg had been injured as well. I stay, frozen in fear, rooted to my spot on the wharf. As Silco pulls himself onto the cobblestone path, I turn and jog towards him, tears continuing to pour down my face.

"Silco!" He hears me, turning his head, his gaze meeting mine. But that eye, his piercing blue eye was now full of cold. I abruptly stop a few feet in front of his tired figure. He glares at me, unspeaking, but he doesn't need to. I know what he feels, what he's thinking.

"I-I'm sorry...I-I didn't k-know what to do..." My excuse falls on deaf ears. He turns his head away from me, his left hand reaching towards his right, gently prying off the small metal band, before dropping it at his feet and walking away. That was it, that was his final say. Sobs rack my body as I fall to my knees, the weight of our relationship, a broken one now, comes crashing down.

We were supposed to be happy. To get married. To have a family. Not this. Not this pain and agony that tears through my heart. He was gone. My love, my life, was gone, a cold and empty shell of himself driven by betrayal and revenge.

I didn't do anything to save us.

Hahaha, you thought this would be more fluff! You were wrong! >:)

Enjoy tho!
