Luke woke up to the sound of his alarm clock ringing. He quickly pushed snooze and fell back to sleep, only to repeat the process ten minutes later.
About three snooze buttons later, Luke decided to finally get up.
He tiredly walked to the bathroom and turned the shower on.
He undressed and stepped in, letting the warm water cover his body and waking him up.
After his shower, Luke decided to let his hair air dry. He threw on a a day to remember shirt and black ripped skinny jeans. Before heading downstairs, he caught a glimpse of the for sale sign next door and a big red sign with "SOLD" in white lettering over it.
Luke saw his family eating breakfast and sat in his usual chair at the dining table. "Do you know who's moving in next door?" Luke asked, putting some food on his plate. Luke was different at home then he was at school. He talked more and was nicer. It was like he was a different person at home.
"The Cliffords" his dad said. "I work with. Mr. Clifford and he was telling me how he was moving on this street." Luke nodded.
For some reason, that name seemed so familiar to him.
"Do they have any kids?" He asked. "Hopefully a cute daughter"
Ben said. "Even if they did, why would she go after you when she could have all of this?" Jack said, motioning to himself and laughing.
"They have a son in high school" their dad said, which earned a groan from Ben and Jack. Luke just nodded and finished eating his breakfast. Maybe he just heard the teacher say that name before. No one important.
Luke saw the bus out the window and put his dishes away in the sink before grabbing his backpack and throwing on his black vans. He shouted a quick "love you" and "bye" before heading to the bus stop.
Once he stepped a foot on the bus friendly at home Luke was gone and replaced with bad boy school Luke. He put his headphones In and played his music probably loud enough for the people behind him to hear.
At school Luke didn't really pay attention. But instead of skipping like he normally would, he stayed, all day.
At lunch Luke sat alone. He didn't mind though, since he liked the quietness. He was pretty much alone all day. Just him and his music.
Everything was ok until Luke was in biology. He was drawing some doodle on his notebook. His teacher, who he didn't like at all, said something he didn't like more.
"Partner up with the person beside you for your next project"
Luke looked beside him and quietly groaned. He did not wanna socialize with anyone today.
"Hemmings. Clifford. Start now"
Luke didn't know how to feel. Shocked, disappointed, or mad. He was a mix of all three. This was going to be his new neighbor. The boy next door. It couldn't have been someone who Luke would've liked hanging out with. No, it had to be the popular kid.
Luke worked on the project with Michael, but didn't utter a word. There's was nothing to really say.
So this was chapter 5 and next chapter will be where they really start hating each other. Remember to keep your head up lovelies and vote and comment!
