Confession

I've watched you from afar

A wish on a star

I've held this secret close to me

A quiet, fragile melody

Your eyes—they soften when they meet mine

Like the quiet after a storm, so divine

Your fire would fiercely burn

But for me, your rage would always turn

I never asked, yet you always knew

How to calm my storm, how to see me through

You never flattered, never played

But in every gesture, your love was laid

You stood beside me when darkness fell

You lifted me when I couldn't tell

In every glance, I see the truth

That in the silence you care for me, too

You are the one I can't let go

I love you more than you could know

I realized too late, yet here I stand

Wishing you'd take this heart in your hand

I'm ready now, come what may,

to tell you what I long to say.
