HI

Namjoon sat on the balcony, engrossed in the pages of a novel, his brow furrowed in thought. The golden rays of the setting sun bathed him in a soft glow, highlighting his sharp features.

Jin stood a few feet away, his gaze lingering on the elder with unspoken admiration. The sight of Namjoon so absorbed in his book made his heart flutter, but the weight of their impending marriage hung heavy between them.

Sensing Jin's presence, Namjoon spoke without looking up. "Come here, honey. Don’t just stand there," he said, his voice calm yet inviting.

Jin’s cheeks flushed a deep pink at the affectionate term. He hesitated for a moment, shy and unsure, but eventually took a tentative step closer. Namjoon finally looked up, his warm gaze meeting hers, and a faint smile curved his lips.

Though their love for each other was undeniable, both knew the harsh truth they were pawns for Namjoon’s father but they deny to be the one. His father had orchestrated this union, driven not by the beauty of their bond but by the cold calculations of a business deal between their families.

Namjoon reached out, gently taking Jin’s hand and pulling him to sit beside him. "I know what you’re thinking," he said softly.

"You are the one who assured me. Don't overthink now, yeah? "

Jin nodded, his heart swelling with a mix of joy and sorrow.

"Let’s not break apart now, yeah? " Namjoon added, his tone firm yet tender. His grip on Jin's hand tightened slightly, a silent promise that whatever the circumstances, he would stand by the younger.

Jin met his gaze, his shyness fading just a little. "Together," he whispered.

Their engagement is in a few days. And for a better life, they need to work together. Defeat his father together. Jin's has told his family everything and they support Jin and Namjoon's decision.

And for a brief moment, as the world outside their balcony fell silent, it felt like it could be just the two of them against everything else.

"Hyung? "

"Yes, baby? " Jeongguk answered still going through some of his documents in his home office while Taehyung sat there on the couch reading a book occasionally admiring his husband.

"I wanted to ask you something. "

Jeongguk looked up taking off his glasses.

He raised his brows, using gesture to let Taehyung know he's listening.

"That day, when Joonie hyung visited us. What did you guys talk about, in your office? "

"And all of a sudden, why did you think of this ? "

"I-i.. Idk, it came into my mind. Maybe because we are in the office. Just like that day. "

Jeongguk tilted his head slightly, his sharp eyes softening as he regarded Taehyung. He could sense the subtle nervousness in his husband's voice, the slight stutter that always gave away his vulnerability.

Setting the pen neatly on the table, Jeongguk leaned back in his chair, his gaze never leaving Taehyung's face.

"Namjoon..." Jeongguk started, his tone calm but measured, "he asked me to take care of you."

Taehyung blinked in surprise, his grip on the book tightening just slightly. "Take care of me?" he repeated softly.

Jeongguk nodded, his lips curving into a faint smile.
