HI
Family Dinner: Dinner at the Jeon Residence.
The grand dining room buzzed with soft conversation and the clink of silverware on porcelain.
Evening sunlight filtered through lace curtains, painting the polished mahogany table in warm gold. Crystal goblets of pomegranate juice shimmered beside plates of tender Bulgogi, Japchae, Kimbap, Tteokbokki...and other recipes that Ye-jin loved to make.
Ye‑jin presided at the head, reclined gracefully in her recovery's soft glow. Conditioned in white but shining with wellness, she gazed over the table with gratitude.
At her right sat Hyun‑bin, his pride mirrored only by his exhaustion.
Next to him were Jeongguk, instinctively protective with one hand lightly brushing Taehyung’s arm..his thronemate.
On the left, Kangmin, Woo‑young, and Dong‑yeon formed a gentle triangle of support. Soft laughter threaded the conversation as they shared cultural dish observations and gentle teasing.
Kangmin grinned, “Ye‑jin aunty, your Bulgogi still outshines any recipe in Korea.”
Ye‑jin smiled, “I had help. But the heart’s half the secret.”
Taehyung’s laughter spilled out, but it caught in his throat as a wave of hormonal suddenness swept over him...tears pricked his eyes one moment, and the next, joy clenched his chest.
Taehyung sniffed, “Hyungie...that’s so sweet.”
Jeongguk leaned in, brushing a comforting fingertip against his lips, “It’s ok, baby.”
Everyone smiled. Taehyung and his pregnancy mood swings.
Taehyung cleared his throat, mood already afloat, “Dong‑yeon hyung, I want more Lemon rice!”
Dong‑yeon..attentive as always..rose to get another plate, Woo‑young following with eager delight.
Woo‑young teased, “Someone’s extra hungry tonight!”
Taehyung patted his belly, “The baby’s squirming. It wants dessert first.”
Laughter filled the space again, as the group passed around breads and sipped juice too. After dinner, Taehyung’s mood shifted, restlessness creeping in.
Taehyung softly whispered to Jeongguk which could be heard by everyone ofcourse, “Hyungie...can you sit next to me?”
Jeongguk rose from Ye‑jin’s side and slid in beside Taehyung. Immediately, Taehyung relaxed, leaning into the protective warmth of Jeongguk’s arm.
Ye‑jin pleasantly sighed, “They belong together.”
She reached over to pat Taehyung’s hand, then looked at Jeongguk and added warmly, “Aren’t you the luckiest, gguk?”
Jeongguk nodded, tender awe in his voice, “Every day. Everyday I thank the heavens.”
Taehyung grew bold in the golden light:
Taehyung softly chuckled, “Hyungie, you look...extra handsome tonight.”
Before Jeongguk could answer, Taehyung tilted his face up and pressed a sweet, cheek-kissing peck to his husband’s side. The room hummed in affectionate surprise...eyes glistened, hearts fluttered.
Ye‑jin exclaimed softly, “Oh, how lovely.”
Hyun‑bin smiled, “That should be framed!”
Jeongguk smiled down, hand cradling Taehyung’s cheek.
