Ji-ah felt frenzied, her heart pounding so fast she felt dizzy.

His hand rested on her cheek delicately, so light and tender it felt as though he feared she might shatter beneath his touch.

He tasted faintly of honey, a sweetness that left her yearning for more. His other hand slid to the nape of her neck, pulling her closer.

A flood of emotions threatened to release within her—uncertainty, relief, and something deeper, stronger—pressing against her chest like a dam ready to break.

She kissed him back, and he responded. His hand moved to her waist, pulling her against him with a tenderness that sent warmth spiraling through her.

Ji-ah's fingers curled into the fabric of Jungwon's shirt, grounding herself as the world seemed to spin around her. The warmth of his touch and the tenderness in his actions melted the tension in her body, leaving only the raw intensity of the moment between them.

Then Jungwon pulled back slightly, just enough to meet her gaze. His feline eyes burned with emotion, their dark depths like tiny flames ready to ignite her soul.

Ji-ah felt feverish under his gaze, the undeniable tension between them heating the air around her.

"I love you," he whispered, his voice low yet thick with emotion.

The words sparked a fire within her, one she couldn't contain.

"I love you too," Ji-ah whispered, her voice trembling with honesty.

Jungwon made a breathless sound. His gaze dropped to her lips, then back to her eyes, as though silently asking for permission to continue.

"Kiss me again," Ji-ah said softly. She didn't know where her sudden bravery had come from, but his kiss made her feel weak and wild all at once.

Jungwon looked momentarily surprised by her, but then a small smirk creeped onto his lips.

Ji-ah felt her stomach flip. That was the most attractive thing she'd ever seen.

"As you wish."

Jungwon unwrapped his arms around her and bent down, carrying her in a bridal style. Ji-ah gasped, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck to steady herself.

He carried her across the room with ease and gently laid her on the bed. He climbed on top and hovered over her, his hands braced on either side of her head.

Ji-ah felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest.

Without another word, he leaned down, capturing her lips once more. This time, his kiss was slow and deliberate, as if savoring a moment long overdue.

The world outside faded into nothingness—no enemies, no fears, just the two of them in the quiet stillness of the room. Nothing else mattered, but them.

His hand moved down to her back, pulling and closing the remaining distance between their bodies.

They were losing control, and all the walls between them began to crumble, revealing their true selves.

His kisses grew more passionate, trailing down her jaw to the curve of her neck. Ji-ah shivered, the sensation of his sharp teeth grazing her skin sent a spark through her.

A sound escaped from her lips, and Jungwon froze.

He pulled back, his darkened eyes locking onto hers. His restraint was falling. Ji-ah's pulse pounded as her face burned with embarrassment, unsure what had come over her.

"God, I've wanted to taste you for so long, Ji-ah," he whispered.

Before she could respond, he dipped his head again, pressing lingering kisses to the hollow of her neck. His hands gripped her waist gently but firmly, igniting a warmth that spread through her entire body.

Ji-ah trailed her hands down his chest, marveling at the strength beneath her fingertips. She stopped where his heart beat beneath his shirt, realizing it pounded just as furiously as hers.

He moved lower, pressing more kisses on her collarbone. Ji-ah felt her pulse quicken as his warmth burned her skin, leaving a searing trail wherever he touched.

He rested his head over her heart, closing his eyes as if savoring the moment.

"I like hearing your heartbeat," he murmured, exhaling softly against her skin.

Ji-ah felt her cheeks flush, her pulse racing as she stared down at him. His words resonated deeply, and she felt herself surrendering completely, letting her guard down in a way she never had before.

"Jungwon," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. Her hand instinctively moved to his hair, her fingers threading through the soft strands as she tried to ground herself in the moment.

He looked up at her then, his gaze steady but filled with an aching tenderness that made her heart skip a beat.

"Do you know what your heartbeat does to me?" he asked softly, his voice rough at the edges, as if every word carried the weight of unspoken emotions. "It's the only thing keeping me sane right now."

They both stared at each other, their chest struggling for more breaths. The intensity of his words, of his presence, threatened to overwhelm her, yet it filled her with a sense of belonging she hadn't felt in a long time.

"I'm here," she said, her voice trembling but resolute. "And I'll stay. For as long as you'll have me."

Jungwon's expression softened, a rare smile breaking through his usual calm demeanor. "Forever, Ji-ah. I'll have you forever if you'll let me."

He leaned forward, brushing a strand of hair from her face. With his warmth surrounding her and the steady rhythm of their hearts echoing in the room, she felt safe.

Jungwon gently kissed her on the forehead and settled beside her, his arms wrapping around her protectively. The world outside seemed distant now, its fury nothing compared to the quiet storm of emotions they had shared.

Ji-ah closed her eyes, her breathing slowing as she sank into the comfort of his arms. And as the night deepened, she felt the faintest flicker of hope—a promise that maybe, just maybe, they could face whatever was to come. Together.
