We took a transport and travelled for what seemed like hours. Blarion was shielding his thoughts from me, and it was making me restless and anxious at the same time, mixing itself with the feeling of anticipation that continued to grow and grow and grow inside me. I was going to see my people.
He put his hands in front of my eyes, and murmured "Surprise" in my ear.
A few minutes walk later, I heard what seemed like a very heavy gate opening. And the noise...
Voices, human voices...
"Oh my good. Lana. Lana are you ok?" I heard a much missed voice and thought I was going to faint. Blarion took his hands away from my face and I was unable to see anything around me. I was just focused on the group that was running to me like their lives depended on it...
My MUM!!!!! My sister, ZEPH....
They all hugged me at the same time, and my heart felt so full and happy that tears poured down my face, making all the beloved faces around me blurry.
I hugged them strongly, never wanting to leave them again. The questions overpowered each other. The multiltude of voices asking the same questions at the same time creating an ear splitting headache. How are you's, where have you been's, have you been hurt's... all them crowding me until I couldn't take it anymore, and had to shout at the top of my lungs "SHUT UP".
They quieted, waiting for my answers.
"I'm ok, I haven't been hurt." A big flare of guilt, not mine made me look at Blarion. He was looking at me, and I nodded at him to come closer. He came and put his arm on my shoulders causing them to gasp."This is Blarion. The king of the Angus... He is... apologetic, and regrets what he did to us. He is the reason we're not all dead. I killed so many of his species he was... impressed with me... and..." I took a big breath, dreading their reaction." We got married to weeks ago." He squeezed my hand, telling me without words that he was there for me, and I look into my family's faces, trying to gauge their reactions.
My mother was... Shocked... Impressed. Happy, sad, angry, resigned... "Well," she said, "if he makes you happy I have no objections, although... You could have found a way of giving us pre-warning."
Zeph was smiling. Like he knew all along. "I knew all along." He comfirmed my thoughts."
"How did you know" I replied.
"I had visions." He shrugged. "I also know something else." He looked pointedly to my stomach, and I looked at him blankly. "What, am I getting fat?"
"No, no. Never mind."
"Where's Lilly?" I asked looking around.
"She's resting with Mara."
"They survived?"
"Yes"
A weight left my shoulders when I realized my girl was alive, and well.
But, when I got to my bedroom, a life changing surprise awaited me.
