During the car ride home, Calum appeared calm, but his shoulders were drawn tight and his eyes were ablaze. To anyone who saw, he would've seemed just stressed. But I knew better.
"Where were you?" Calum said calmly once we were inside.
"I was in the mall with my friend." I reply, trying to keep the fear out of my voice.
That's when he dropped appearances.
"YOU TOLD ME THE MOVIE ENDED AT 4! I WALKED AROUND THAT MALL FOR AN HOUR LOOKING FOR YOU!" His loud voice boomed, making me flinch. I wonder how long it'll be before he starts with the insults.
"You stupid piece of shit," That didn't last long. " I don't even know why I stay with you." His hand moves before I could register.
Pain. The left side of my face feels hot, and I know that it'll leave a bruise. Looks like another month of concealer. I keep my eyes trained on the floor, not daring to see his expression.
"Look at me." He said. I didn't.
"Michael," He said more firmly, and lifted my chin with his finger and I flinch again, this time in pain. "Baby, you need to learn." Cal said before kissing me softly. " I need to know where you are all the time. What if someone tried to hurt you or take you? What then?" He says, quietly now.
"I was just with my friend." I try to defend.
"And if they would've hurt you, I'd kill them." Calum says, not in a sweet tone, but deadly.
"I can trust them." I say softly, knowing that he won't care.
"I don't care if you can trust him or not, you're my boyfriend, and I don't want you hanging around that blonde giraffe anymore. Understand?"
I knew it wasn't an option, and he knew I knew that, so with that, he walked off, leaving me to be for now.
