Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.
Just keep going. No feeling is final.

All Our Yesterdays

The small room was cozy, warm, the four of them had gathered around a modest sitting table in Kayla's house. The patterned cloth on the table slightly wrinkled, its faded colors showing years of use. Erevin placed his notebook on the table, flipping to a blank page, pencil ready to start the study session.

Kayla, however, had other plans.

"Before we get into all this," she said, leaning back with an exaggerated sigh, "we need a snack break."

Dawn giggled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I wouldn't say no to that."

Liam immediately nodded, flashing a mischievous grin. "Snacks before work-who could argue with that logic?"

"Exactly," Kayla declared with mock seriousness, standing up. "The best time for a snack is before you're too tired to truly enjoy it. Proactive snacking, you know?"

"That... doesn't make any sense," Erevin muttered, but he didn't argue further.

Liam laughed. "Makes perfect sense to me."

Kayla disappeared into the adjoining kitchen and returned with a tray piled high with chips, cookies, and soda cans. She set it down on the table with a flourish. "There. The fuel we need for academic brilliance."

Dawn eagerly grabbed a cookie, her eyes twinkling. "Thanks, Kayla. You're officially my favourite study partner."

"Hey, what about me?" Liam asked, feigning offense.

"You're a close second," Dawn teased.

Erevin didnt say anything, he didnt really know how to talk in groups like this, he thought he would better observe first.

As they snacked, the conversation drifted from school to more personal topics. Kayla's eyes sparkled mischievously as she turned to Dawn. "So, tell us about your date with Erevin. I mean, he turned down Amelia for it, so it must've been something special."

Dawn's cheeks turned pink, but she smiled as she pulled out her phone. "It wasn't like that. But it was really nice. We watched a movie too. Look, I took some pictures."

She swiped through her photo gallery, showing them pictures of the café's charming interior, the giant couple special cup they'd shared, and one candid shot of Erevin looking away, clearly unaware of the camera.

Kayla leaned in, grinning. "Aw, look at you two! Erevin, you're a natural at this whole boyfriend thing."

Erevin choked on his drink, coughing furiously as his ears turned red. Liam leaned over, alarmed. "You okay, dude?"

"I'm fine," Erevin managed to say, his voice slightly strained.

Dawn and Kayla exchanged a quick look, Dawn smiling softly while Kayla teased, "Aw, Erevin, you get so flustered just because I called you her boyfriend?"

Dawn nudged her with a playful glare. "Kayla, stop."

"What?" Kayla said innocently. "I'm just saying it's adorable."

The conversation shifted when Liam, scrolling through his phone, looked up suddenly. "Hey, Erevin, what's your Pixtagram ID? I'll make a group chat for us."
