Chapter 9 Back In It's Prime

《Jamie》

"That was the call, they are officially on there way back." I yelled out to everyone.

Okay, so I bet your wondering what we are doing. Why we left Orlando so quickly. Well we plan to give Lauren and Joey the date they never had. They had to stay an extra week in Orlando, so it gave us perfect time to clean up the Dreamland. We spent days and nights trying to turn this place back to its former glory. Darren had talked to a buddy of his on the set of Glee who hooked us up with a drive in movie projector. We cleaned up the snack bar, and yes got the dead rat the size of a chihuahua out, and we filled it with snack. Lauren and Joeys favorite snacks, Red Vines, ding dongs, assortments of little Debby cakes and chips, we filled up a cooler with soft drinks, and Dylan even brought his grill down so we could grill burgers.

Darren pulled up to me in an old classic pick up truck. "What's more perfect at an old timey drive in than an old timey car." Darren told me, then turned the truck around where the back was facing the screen.

"Darren where did you find this?" I asked him as he got out of the car.

"Well I saw it around at Fox studio's and we'll asked if I coukd barrow it for the weekend."

"This is going to be perfect! Where is Joe and Rosenthal?" I asked, I looked around and started yelling there names.

"You yelled for us." Rosenthal said as him and Joe walked up.

"See that mattress over there, help Darren put it in the bed of the truck please, then I'll come over and make it." I told them and the three guys headed off. I walked to the snack counter to see if they had got the smell out, they did.

"Hey Jamie, come over here." Dylan yelled. I walked over to where he had been working for the past few hours.

"This is gonna blow your mind." He said climbing down off the ladder. He walked over and flipped a switch somewhere and the whole Dreamland lit up. A huge sign that read Dreamland Drive In was lit up in bright lights. I looked around at the place it looked like had stepped into the past.

"Dylan omigod this is so beautiful." I told him.

"This is how it looked in its prime." He told me. I noticed that the mattress was in the back of the truck I went over and put a sheet on it, then threw a thousand pillows onto it and finished it off with a big warm blanket. I looked around, Yep this is definitely some date out of a cheesy romantic movie. I thought to myself. Just then Brian and Meridith pulled in with a truck full of couches for all of us to sit on.

"Jamie where do you want these?" He asked.

"See that truck, put them in front of it so we won't bother them." I told him, then Brian and the rest of the guys began unloading them.

Everything was shaping up, I looked at my clock there flight landed in an hour, I needed to get back to the apartment.

"Hey, I'm gonna head to my apartment, keep it up with those finishing touches. Oh and don't forget to start the Burgin a few minutes, oh and-" I was cut off be Meridith.

"Jamie go, everything is under control here, don't worry." She told me.

"I just want it to be perfect." I told her.

"Jamie this is going to be perfect, just look at this place, now go home and bring them here." I nodded and went on my way.

I reached my apartment I looked at the time, 5:30, I still have some time, so I went and took a shower.

《Lauren》

I still was sore, but I managed. I didn't care how bad I was feeling I was just glad Joey was with me. We reached my apartment at 6:15 and I we went inside, God it was nice to be back home. I thought to myself.

"Jamie." I called, and then she came running out from the back.

"Your back!" She yelled. She gave me a bug hug then hugged Joey. Joey wasant talking much, I think k he was about to pass out. "So, the gang got together and called for reservations at your favorite fancy restaurant." Jamie told.

"Tonight?" I asked her, she nodded her head. "Can we take a rain check?" I asked. She shook her head.

"No, trust me you don't want to miss this." She said then shoved us back out side. Jamie got in the drivers seat and Joey and I sat in the back, she started the car and drive off. I looked up at Joey and gave him a look that said what are you gonna do with them. Joey smiled back at me and kissed my cheek.

The car ride was silent. It was dark out side so I couldn't tell where we were going. The car stopped, I looked out the window and my jaw dropped.

"Is this-" I began.

"What Dreamland looked like in its prime, yes." Jamie finished my sentence.

"This is why you guys left early, to-" Joey began.

"To recreate your first date, that unfortunately couldn't happen, yes." Darren said giving me a hug, then Joey a hug.

"Is that-" Joey began but I cut him off.

"FOOD!" I yelled and began running to the snack bar.

"What will it be mam'?" Dylan asked.

"Well we got Red Vines, little Debby cakes, ding dongs, chips, burgers and cold drinks." My eyes opened wide at what he said, all of my favorite snacks.

"Make that one, no, two of everything."I told him. He just laughed at me.

"It's great to have you back Lo'." He said laughing at me. I took my food and ran. I saw a old pickup truck in the middle, I was guessing that is where we were supposed to sit I took my food and threw it onto the bed, then climbed in. Joey walked up to me and started laughing.

"Shutup and come sit with me." I said patting the spot beside me. "I got you some food." I said handing him one of my two burgers.

"Thank you for thinking about me." He said, I just rolled my eyes at him. Joey layed back and I cuddled up beside him.

"Joey," in said looking up at him, "you know I love you right." He smiled down at me and kissed me, everytime he did I got butterflies.

"I love you to Lo'." He said. The movie started playing. I wasant paying atention, I was thinking. Man I hand such great friends, I have such a great boyfriend, everything feels perfect.

Our story is cheesy, I know, but it's our story, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I have my prince charming, who was my best friend all along, and I finally found my happily ever after.
