5. The Letter

Ashley p.o.v

When I wake up I see Calum sitting on the floor scrolling through his phone.

"When did you get here?" I ask.

"My question is why did Luke keep this secret from you." My heart stopped for a minute.

He read the note.

"That is my question too. I haven't even read the note." I say.

I stand up and I walk to the note that is placed next to Calum.

I look at the note in my hand.

I turn to look at Calum revealing a small smile.

My heart starts to pound in my ears.

I slowly open the paper.

I then see Luke was not lying. It is my mothers letter.

'Dear Luke,

First don't ever let your sister know of this. I'm not dead. Neither is your father. I'm sorry for this, we had to fake our death to get away from the danger that was following us and could possibly follow both of you. Don't ever look for us. Is not safe at all. I love both of you with all my heart. I am going to miss both of you. Take good care of your sister. Don't ever let any cold hearted guy take her heart. She is your responsibility now. I know you will do good. Again, I love both of you so much. Please keep this a secret from everyone. Especially your sister.
Love, Mom.'

I crushed the paper in my hands. Tears falled down my eyes.

I can't believe my own mom could to this to me.

I needed to find her and talk to her straight up why she did this to me.

"I need to find her, Calum. I need to." I say as I wipe my tears.

"We will. I will help you find her and your dad." Calum says as he brushes my hair.

I then feel Calum's hand at the back of my neck. His eyes focus on mine.

"I love your brown eyes." He whispers. Calum then leans in.

His lips collapsing with mine.

I grab onto his neck to get closer to him.

Our lips move in a perfect pace. His warmth makes me feel amazingly safe.

"Ashley. I'm falling for you." I then remember what my mom told me once. "Calum, don't fall for me. Everything that falls breaks." I say.

I see a frown come from Calum. "But the thing is that not everything brakes. Only if it fragile. Which I'm not anymore." Calum then presses his lips with mine once again. "Im in love with you and I won't deny it anymore." He says between a kiss.

Luke p.o.v

I knew what I did was wrong.

I knew I was being harsh.

But she lost me.

All I'm doing is protecting her.

I knew I had to stop making her look stupid by not knowing the truth. She needed to know it.

I sipped on the beer I have on my hand. The house is a huge mess.

I really missed Ashley. She was always the one to keep me together.

She always thought that I smoked and drank beer because of the death of our parents, but the truth is that I smoked and drank beer because the thought of my little sister getting hurt hauted me.

I knew someday I would have to let her go, but not to Calum.

Calum is hiding secrets from her.

Just like I am. I will let her find out the rest of Calum's secret by herself.

Same as my secrets. I will let her figure it out by her own.

Calum's p.o.v

For the first time after in years.

I could finally say I'm in love.

I found the thing that made me feel human. And better yet I found the girl that completed me.

I will protect her from any danger. She is mine. No one will ever hurt her.

"I'm hungry " Ashley says as she finally stops sobing.

"Want to go buy something?" I ask.

"Sure" I can tell that even a smile of hers is fake.

Ashley and I went to a fast food place.

"I'll be back darling I'm going to the restroom." I say as I place a small kiss on her cheek.

As soon as I'm done washing my hands.

A tall men with a black hoddie comes in.

"If Ashley ever finds out where her parents are you and her will die." I snap my head up to what this random men just said.

He then runs out the restroom.

I ran out to Ashley. Her face pale and full of fear.

"Calum. A men just came to me and said if I ever find out where my parents are you and I will die."

Anonymous p.o.v

"Did you tell her?" I ask.

"Yes. And the boyfriend too." I nod in agreement.

"I need to get the boy to come here. Make sure to leave no tracks of anything. Make if seem as if he left. You know who I'm talking about. No mistakes this time."
