How can we, and as we, I'm taking about us black folk, live a prosperous life until the end?
I'm not one to talk about the news and media, and to be quite honest, I don't wanna go too in depth with this, but I just want to say, the Sandra Bland situation hurt me to my core.
The reason it affected me more than the others was because she was standing up for what she believed in! She was so peaceful and she held so much poise with every word she said. She never, ever made negative remarks about the other race and here she is, sitting on ice, waiting to be planted into the ground.
& her life cost what?
A fucking traffic ticket.😒
It's scares me.
I'm scared to be myself.
Should I dress a certain way?
Should I not even smile?
I feel like the police are just waiting to kill nowadays.
I think it scares me even more because my nephew is 6. He doesn't know what's going on, but he soon will. I pray that these things won't ever be his downfall.
My niece is 4 months. I pray she won't ever be where Sandra was.
My brother.
God, my brother. I pray for him more than I pray for myself. He's the only dad I have and I'm afraid.
This has to stop.
Please, someone make it stop.
I'm scared.
& this is the world we live in.
How can we be scared of the world we live in?
