Y/N was sitting on the edge of her bed, scrolling through her new phone. A small, fleeting smile adorned her face, one that Namjoon couldn’t help but cherish. He stood near the mirror, knotting his tie, his eyes constantly drifting to her.
That smile it was all he ever wanted to see.
"Come on, get up" Namjoon said gently but firmly. "It’s been two weeks since the form was submitted. You need to meet the principal and tell him the real reason for leaving school, okay?"
Y/N’s fingers paused on the screen as she looked up at him, her smile fading. "I don’t want to go... please" she murmured, her voice trembling as she made a small pout.
Namjoon sighed, stepping closer to her. He crouched slightly, so their eyes met. "It’s necessary" he said, his tone softening as his gaze locked with hers. "You have to tell him, Y/N. If you don’t, those students will keep bullying others. Do you want that? No, right? Then let’s go. You’re stronger than this."
Y/N stared at him for a moment, her lower lip quivering.
Namjoon placed his hand on her shoulder, his expression tender. "I’ll wait right outside the principal’s office. When you come out I’ll take you home. No one will hurt you again okay? I’m here. I’m with you."
His words were her lifeline. Slowly, she nodded, her resolve flickering to life under his reassuring gaze.
She got up from the bed, placing a protective hand on her belly. It was slightly visible nowa constant reminder of her fear and her pain.
Her mind raced as she walked toward the bathroom to get ready. What if Yeon-joon see me? What if he hurt me again? But then she remembered Namjoon. He was there, a steady anchor in her storm, and she drew strength from his presence.
When they arrived at the school, Namjoon held her wrist lightly, leading her through the hallway. The familiar walls felt suffocating, but his touch kept her grounded. They reached the principal’s office, and Namjoon stopped, turning to face her.
"You’ve got this" he said, nodding encouragingly.
Her heart pounded in her chest as he gently pushed the door open. She looked back at him, her eyes pleading. "Stay here, please."
"I’ll be right here...don't worry" he assured her, giving her a small, encouraging smile.
Steeling herself, Y/N stepped into the office.
"Hello, sir" she said softly as she entered.
The principal looked up from his desk and gestured to the chair in front of him. "Hello, Y/N. Have a seat."
"Thank you" she whispered, sitting down. Her palms were sweating, and she clasped her hands tightly on her lap.
"So" the principal began, leaning forward slightly, "why do you want to leave school?"
