The soft hum of the evening buzzed outside the windows but the inside of the apartment was warm, lit only by the golden glow of a few scattered lamps.

Namjoon and Y/N sat together on the floor, leaning against the couch, wrapped in a shared blanket as the remnants of their movie evening faded into silence.

Y/N had her head on his shoulder, fingers lightly tracing the pattern on his sweatet. But she was quiet. Too quiet.

Namjoon glanced down at her. "What's going on in that head of yours?"

She hesitated, then looked up at him. "Do you think your parents will ever accept me? I know they don't want me in your life. And honestly... I can't stop thinking about it. It scares me."

Namjoon sighed gently, brushing his fingers along her cheek before he tilted her chin to meet his eyes. "That's exactly why I want to take you to them, Y/N. It's time. They need to hear it from me...see what we are, who you are. I'm their child and they need to understand that my future... it's with you."

Y/N's brows furrowed. She looked down, voice trembling. "What if it hurts them more? They said I remind them of things they don't want to face?"

There was a long pause. Namjoon gently held her hands in his.

"There's something I've never told you," he said softly. "And I think it's time to tell you."

Y/N looked up, eyes wide heart slowly pounding louder.

"Yeon-Joon... the one who hurt you... he's not just some distant family member" Namjoon began. "He's my nephew. He's my sister Hayeon's son."

Y/N's lips parted in shock. "What...?"

Namjoon nodded, gaze distant with old memories. "She was only seventeen when she got pregnant. Still a kid. But she loved that baby. She fought to keep him even when everyone told her she was too young. She died giving birth to him... and I was ten. I watched her go into that hospital room with hope and never come out."

Y/N's eyes welled up, her hands tightening around his.

"My parents didn't support her...she was alone doing everything on her own...Her boyfriend he broke up with her when she told him that's she was pregnant..My brother Jin was with her taking care of het...After her death" Namjoon continued "My parents took Yeon-Joon in and raised him like their own. He was all they had left of her. And because of that... they loved him deeply. Unconditionally. Even when he started to lose his way."

Y/N was silent, taking in every word like it weighed on her skin.

"My sister loved me so much...he told Jin to give a name to her son like me. My parents, They don't hate you Y/N " Namjoon said quietly.

"They see you and they remember him. They remember their grief. Their failure. The pieces they couldn't fix in him. And because of that, they react with pain. But it's not your fault. You didn't done anything."
