"Dianna, you? want to go...camping.?" i ask her, looking at her from across the kitchen.
"yea! why is that so hard to believe?" she says, narrowing her eyes at me.
"sweetheart...you refused to walk to the car this morning because you didn't want the wind to mess up your cured hair?" i say walking around to her."i'll have my hair up."
i give her a sceptical look. "seriously!" she says looking up at me.i sigh, holding her cheek in my hand.
"Dianna...you've been slipping a-lot in the past 3 days...are you sure you want to do that in front of your friends?" i was genuinely asking, because i wholeheartedly would love for her to be comfortable enough to do that, but it had been barely any time, i had already messed up the car seat, not introducing it with enough time, i didn't want her to risk he getting overwhelmed and upset over accidentally slipping in-front of a big group of people.i watched the thoughts roll around her head, her eyes trailing off in deep thought.
"i'm gonna be fine James, I'm not gonna hurt myself any less than i would if i wasn't in my own brain."
i never liked the way Dianna talked about slipping, as if it weren't her own mind, when really it was her most pure form of mind."that's not what i was worried about..." i said quietly, as she slipped out of reach heading for my room?
"-uh hello? whats so interesting in my room?" i say following behind her.
"your wardrobe." she said, pulling open the doors.
I trailed behind her, a mix of amusement and confusion playing on my face. The shift from discussing her feelings to her sudden interest in my wardrobe was a little unexpected.
"My wardrobe? Why the sudden interest in my clothes?" I chuckled, watching her rummage through the various hangers.
"i always wear my boyfriends clothes when i go camping." she said, pulling apart hangers, looking for whatever she was after.
i didn't love how she talked so casually about how shed been camping with previous boyfriends before but i chose to keep my mouth shut.
good thing shell only be wearing my stuff on camping's from now on then.I let out a soft chuckle at her comment, feeling a strange mixture of amusement and possessiveness. The thought of her wearing my clothes brought a faint warmth to my cheeks that I tried to hide with a nonchalant smile.
blushing will ruin my super stoic, alpha male- protector of my little lady- image.
obviously"so great that You'll be wearing my clothes this time," I replied, trying to keep the fondness out of my voice. "And next time, and the time after that. You won't be needing other boyfriends' clothes anymore, especially because i am far more stylish." i say with a wiggle of my brows.
she chuckled at my playful confidence. "Oh, really?" she retorted, raising an eyebrow.
"You think you have better style than all the other boyfriends? Well, In that case You better bring your A-game when it comes to your fashion choices for this camping trip. I won't accept any less than fabulous." she jokes still rifling.
I watched Dianna rummaging through my wardrobe, amused by her quest for the perfect camping jumper when A thought struck me, and I leaned against the doorframe, a hint of a smirk playing on my lips.
"You know," I began, clearing my throat, "While you're searching for the right clothes, I've been considering a little something that might make this camping trip even more memorable." I paused, as i walked up to my bedside table a mischievous glint in my eyes.
"what?" she asked turning to me, narrowing he eyes
I took a step forward, my grin widening. "I was thinking, since you'll be wearing my clothes, why not mark the occasion with a special touch?"
Before she could respond, I pulled out a small box. I approached her, opening the box to reveal a dainty pendant necklace.
"I was going to wait till your birthday to give it to you thought it might be a nice way for you to always be reminded of the fun we'll have on our trip together. What do you think?"
The sight of her eyes lighting up made my heart swell. I couldn't help but smile as she took the necklace from me, her fingers brushing against mine with a delicate touch.
As I fastened the pendant around her neck, I watched her admiring the necklace in the mirror. "It looks perfect on you," I murmured, stepping back to appreciate the sight. "It'll be our special little symbol of this camping trip."
"and it will go great with this.." she said finally pulling out the jumper she'd been looking for.
the one i was wearing when we first met.
