A Change Is Gonna Come

Today was Juliette's first day as a resident, that meant she was getting interns. She was excited but was also hoping to be the best resident for her interns. She wasn't gonna be mean like the other ones were probably gonna do. She was gonna make sure her interns learned well.

Juliette was at the nurses counter when she had seen her interns heading towards. 

 "Hey everyone. I am Juliette, and I am your resident." Juliette said to her interns. "What's everyones names?"

"I'm Maya Johnson." A girl with dark hair said. 

"Ethan Blake." 

"Sophia Ramirez."

"Ryan Kim."

"Well it's nice to meet everyone." Juliette said, giving everyone a small smile, also getting one from her interns. "Now let's get into it, I have a couple of  rules. You don't really have to memorize them but I think it'll be best to do so. Rule number one, you can suck up, but I don't know if I'll be nice right away about it." 

"Trauma protocols, phone lists, pagers. The nurses will page you." Juliette said, showing the interns the items.  "You answer every page at a run...a run. That's rule number two. Nurses are nice so you got to answer them no matter what. Your first shift starts now and lasts 36 hours." 

"I'll be honest with you guys." Juliette said, stopping to look at the interns. "Your grunts, nobodies, the bottom of the surgical food chain. You run labs, you write orders, you work every second night until you drop, and you don't complain. But at the same time if anyone is rude to you, you come to me and I will deal with them." 

"Here are the on call rooms. Sleep when you can, where you can. You know, but not with anybody." Juliette tells them. "Or you can be like me and sleep with an attending and then start dating them." 

The interns laughed, already liking their resident. 

"Now I think thats all, because if I did the last one, my pager probably wouldn't go off." Juliette said, standing by the door as her pager went off. Shocked Juliette looks at her interns and tells them to follow her.

The Residents were sitting in the hallway hangout, talking away. Juliette was sad, as this morning she didn't get to see mark as she was at the frat house instead of his hotel. 

"I hate them." Cristina said.

"You don't hate them. You hate you." Meredith replied. 

"That was hideous. I feel like a fraud." Izzie spoke. 

"I rocked it. I think I'm the new nazi." Alex said. 

"Oh, you are not the new nazi." Cristina said.

"If anyone did well, it was me." Juliette said. "My interns really loved me, well I hope they did." 

"Meredith, I need to talk to you." George said, walking into the hallway. 

"George. Hi." Izzie greeted. 

"Hey." George replied, not looking at her. 

"How was your vacation?" Izzie questioned. 

"Um, fine. Um, Meredith, can we..." George started speaking, but was interrupted by Izzie. 

"Cause mine was... I didn't do much. I hung out alone...for 17 days." Izzie said. "Which is the last time that I saw you, the day of Cristina's wedding, which was...well...then Mer and Cristina went on Cristina's honeymoon without me, Juliette hung out with Mark the whole time since she didn't go on the honeymoon with them."
