"Yo Travis" Patrick called out from across the field, his voice laced with frustration as he jogged over, shaking his head.

"Bro what the fuck" he sighed. "we had that down - where's your head at man". I let out a breath, I shrugged.

"Sorry man, go again," without waiting for a response, I jogged back to my position, trying to clear the fog in my head.

These past few weeks have been torture for me. Training camp kept me from seeing taylor and after spending every movement after the tour ended together the sudden distance was unbearable.

We facetime constantly - sometimes multiple times a day - but it wasn't the same. There was an underlying tension, as nagging feeling something was missing, like I was missing something.

We finished training not long after exhausted and drenched in sweat, ready to head back to our rooms.

"Trav" coach Reed called me from the locker room.

I ran a hand through my damp hair as I walked over. "Yea coach?"

He lowered his voice, leaning in slightly. "Look trav, I don't know what's going on, but you need to get your head in the game, son".

I swallowed hard, guilt settling in my chest. "Yea, sorry coach i'll work on it"

I left the locker room, feeling like I let my team down but something more important was lingering on my mind.

Taylor.

I set up my phone on the tiny desk I had and pressed the familiar green icon.

Within seconds, the screen lit up with her adorable face, and just like that, everything else melted away. "Hey baby" she greeted me with a soft smile, curled up on the couch, flipping through channels.

"Hi my love" I grinned, unable to stop the warmth spreading on my face.

I probably looked like a love sick teenager, but i didn't care. Seeing her - really seeing her - made me feel like I'm the luckiest man alive.

Every moment with her was a gift. Waking up beside her in the morning when she'd groan and refuse to kiss me because of her so -called 'morning breath.

Holding her in the evenings, her skin all soft and warm from a shower. And now where nothing else in the world mattered.

"Who are you staring at?' she teased, her eyes twinkling.

"You" I murmured, completely lost in her.

taylors scrunched her nose, pulling a face that was so effortlessly cute it made my chest tighten. I wondered, not for the first time, how someone could be so damn perfect.

"So, how was training?" she asked me, just like she did everyday –always wanting to know how my day went.

That was the thing about Taylor. She cared. So damn much.

Even though I knew she probably had no real interest in hearing about the endless drills and plays, she never complained. She just listened. Letting me talk, letting me shine.

"It was alright" I mumbled, not really in the mood to get into it.

Her face twisted with concern as she sat up, immediately something was off.
