Too close

We all jump up ready for a fight after hearing a repeated thud against the glass walls of the hospital. Clearly this apocalypse is getting worse and has effected other people in different ways, such as the huge zombie. Why I say that? Because there are bunch of different types of zombies surrounding the hospital. Small big you name it.

I look around the walls of the hospital and the storm has only gotten worse. It's almost pitch black outside pouring rain and thundering and lightening severely. We pack everything in our bags quickly, each looking at one another waiting for someone to come up with an elaborate plan.

My face lights up. "Ok guys, we are going have to split up and find a way to get up towards the roof, Claire you go with me and Ryder go with Joey. That was we both have someone with powers." I explain. I grab Claire and we run towards the left of the hospital as Ryder and Joey take the right.

We find multiple patient rooms and surgical rooms, but we can't find and entrance to stairs. We find an elavator. I shrug at Claire and we enter it. It's our best chance I think to myself. I take a deep breath and press the up button. It's unbelievably slow but we are heading up. It shutters and starts to go back down. We look at eachother confused and scared.

It stops abruptly and the lights go out. Claire curses. I sigh and feel for the doors. I try to put my hands to where the doors close and I try hard to pull them apart. I struggle. I stop and tense up. I fell myself getting stronger my arms build up muscle and I feel my stomach. I have abs. Not bad I think. I build up strength and electricity and I put my hand on the door. I look down and draw my hand back and slam it against the door. "OWWWWWW, that did not work out as planned." I scream shaking my hand. Claire chuckles. "Ok let's try this again." I asure myself. I throw my hands out to the door. The doors fly off this time and I see we are stuck between the basement and the first floor. Some light shines through and I look up towards the vent above us and look at Claire.
"We can get out from there. I'll pick you up and then you help me up." I say as I point to the vent. She nods and I grab her with my new strength. She jumps up there and puts her out for me. I grab it and pull myself through. We jump out to the first floor. I stare at the glass doors with terror. The glass is breaking. My eyes become black. Ryder is talking to me." We found a way to top of the building, come on up and hurry, there are a lot of zombies we are trying to kill." My eyes return to normal. I cock my head to Claire. "Go the way your brother took, I'll stay here and have throw up a force field until you get up there." I demand. She nods and runs that way.

I sigh and look down. I gather electricity in my hands. My feet come off the ground and I levitate. My hair is strewn everywhere. My eyes become electric blue. They burst through the door and I thrust my arms to them and the force field comes up. It hurts because I'm exerting so much power and become weak over time.

I hear the horrible sounding growls of the zombies 10 feet in front of me. Some try to fight it but if they touch it the disenegrate. It gets rid of some but not a lot. My eyes go black again. "Claire is up here now." I let go of the shield and fall to the ground. They pour in. I stumble to get in and I make a mad dash for the roof. I climb stairs so fast but the zombies are not far behind. I stop to take a breath and shoot a huge bolt at the crowd behind me and the blast throws the front row backwards. I run again. 3 flights left.

I get to the last flight of stairs and trip on something wet. I fall and Crack my chin off one of my steps. I wince in pain but get up and keep going. I feel the blood pouring down my chin and neck. Great I ripped my stitches on my neck too. I bang on the roof door screaming. No reponse. I turn around and back up against the door. The zombies get close again. I'm too weak to shoot at anything. The door opens and I feel a hand on the the hem of my shirt. It pulls me back and the door slams. I fall back on Ryder. I sit up and grab my chin and put my other hand over my neck.

It's still storming really bad so Ryder and I set up a tarp to cover us. While we work on that Claire and Joey block up the door. After we are done I sit down and wince in pain of the soreness in my chin. Ryder stitches up my neck again and bandages my chin.
"Well didn't you beat yourself up, huh?" He teases. I make a face at him and he smirks. I look at my wrist, I forgot I still had the watch Geoff gave Ryder and I. It still works to luckily.

We search the rooftop and find 4 spotlights alongside each corner of the roof. We can't turn them on unless we switch off the power to the building. And the power box is in the building. Great looks like I'll be doing the job. I sigh. "Ok looks like I'll be needing a partner again." I look at Joey. "I'm sorry but it's gotta be you, I'm not gonna put your sister through a scary time again and I need Ryder up here to tell me if the lights go on." I tell him. "Ok, I understand." He says with a sigh. We take down the wood and everything on the door. The zombies have left but they are still in the hospital roaming around everywhere. We head down the stairs slowly.

The power box is 2 flights below us. We make it silently. "Yo Joe, hand me a flashlight please." I say as I examine the power box. He unzips his bag and throws me one. I catch it without even looking and put it in my mouth.
"Ok you guard the door, when the lights go off you now I've found it and back up slowly towards me." I say to him. "Got it." He replies.

I switch off some knobs and turn some dials. I find a button that says power and I push it. The lights go off and Ryder tells me "Perfect, their on."
I nod and hear Joey backing up slowly.
He tackles me and I hear it growling.
Ok that is not him. I put my hand on its chin and it turns it's head to the side and attempts to eat my fingers.
I see a baseball bat come in sight and it whacks the zombie. He flies off and Joey helps me up and we run back towards the roof.

We're almost to the top and we hear the patter of the zombies feet behind us. I still have the flashlight in my hand and it's flashing everywhere. I hear Joey banging on the door. It opens and we run in and throw our bodies against the back of the door.
We inhale and exhale fast. Claire and Ryder come over. "Ok on the count of three Joey you move and we will start blocking the door. After we get one board on Paris you move ok." Ryder says fast. "3...2....1" Joey moves and Claire and Ryder get to work. One board is up and I move.

With in minuets it's closed up with four boards. We are all out of breath.
We hear something. Claire gasps and runs to the edge of the building. She is screaming "HEY OVER HERE!" We all realize what she is doing and go out to join her.
