Chapter 22

Across the Omniverse the screens went black with a message "we'll be back after the break," it said.

So without the show, heroes, villains and civilians went about their day, living life, causing chaos or saving the day, and for the many versions of Cain Blaze in the marvel multiverse, they needed a moment to themselves.

Ultimate/Assemble Universe

Cain was riding around New York on his hell cycle, after witnessing his fight with his brother he needed to be alone to clear his head, and probably take down some villains.

Cain rode up the side of a building and jumped off the bike and took a seat, he then heard another motorcycle follow after him.

"I thought I told you I wanted to be alone, Abel," said Cain.

"We're brothers, your never alone," said Abel.

"Besides, the spider twins were about to chase after you also, thought I'd be a more understanding presence," said Abel.

"So, those shadows, Zarathos tell you how to get them yet?" asked Abel.

"Not at all," said Cain.

"Man, could you imagine if you had those shadows, you could deal with every local threat, gangsters, monsters, villains, henchmen, literally no one would be a threat anymore, only Mephisto and his army of demons probably," said Abel.

"I mean, there's a possibility that now even stronger demon lords have become enemies to my counterpart, what if, the stronger I get, the more I attract even stronger demons, greater threats, not just to me, but everyone I care about, this whole world," said Cain.

"Cain, power breeds contempt, there are always going to be those who want to fight you because your stronger than others, you know that better than anyone, after all, one doesn't beat Thor and Hulk and not get a target on their back," said Abel.

"It's just, what's waiting for me on the other end of this power, if I gain the same power my counterpart uses, what new enemies will it attract, will our world version of Abaddon come after me?" asked Cain.

"Your counterpart called us something, he didn't call us demon or demon lords, he referred to us as Monarchs, could these monarchs be what's coming?" asked Abel.

"I don't know," said Cain.

There was an explosion and Cain and Abel looked over and saw a giant dragon like demon, "welp, time for work," said Cain standing and Abel stood with him.

"Just another day of dispatching devils of the underworld, by the way, we're apparently picking up pizza to go with the show when we're done," said Abel.

"Fine by me," said Cain as he got on his bike rode off the building swung his chain to pull him to the building and he rode down at high speeds as his flesh burned away to a flaming skeleton.

Spectacular Marvel

Peter, Petra, Rogue, Nocturnal, Spyke, Wanda, Illyana, and Kitty all stood on a building just looking at Cain who was brooding.

"He's been like that, for five minutes, does he usually brood this long?" asked  Spyke.

"Didn't he when he was with you guys?" asked Peter.

"No, honestly felt like we got most of his confidence," said Rogue.

"Guys, it's rude to talk about a man behind his back," said Cain.

"So why are we just waiting here?" asked Spyke.

A bat like demon came flying at Cain and Cain caught it by the neck, "because like any pest, sometimes you gotta draw these fuckers out to you," said Cain as he lifted the demon, it roared at Cain and Cain crushed it's throat scaring the others, he let the demon drop and turn to dust.
