Cody sat up groaning. His stomach was still sore from the beating he took yesterday. Suddenly, he remembered the two people that had taken on his attackers, and the moment he fainted when raw current shot out of the guys hand. He sat up straighter, bewildered, when he didn't recognize where he was. Did those two freaks kidnap me? He was in a very cozy room, unlike his cold apartment. There was a comfortable sofa chair, and two bedroom doors. He was stretched out on the ground of the living room, bandaged. He started to get up, but saw movement on the couch. He stood up slowly, not daring to make a sound, although being on a carpeted floor did make it easier. He edged over to the couch, and was astonished when he saw the girl that he had seen a few days before, running near the factory. She was sleeping on her stomach, snoring softly. He didn't want to wake her, but he had no choice.
" Hey! Wake up! C'mon, wake up! " he whispered, shaking her shoulder roughly. She grumbled some cuss words in her sleep, and went back to snoring. He shook her shoulder more fiercely, and she sat up unhappily, rubbing her eyes and yawning.
" Oh, you're up. Thanks for helping me the other day. " she said sarcastically.
" Sorry about that, " he grinned sheepishly. "Where are we?"
" This one chick and a dude brought me here. They seem messed in the head, but they brought you here last night. The girl bandaged you, and put you on the couch to sleep, but I might have pushed you off. " she said. It was her turn to look at him sheepishly. Just then he heard footsteps from the bedroom, and stood up in time to see a girl emerge from the room. Her black hair hung loose at her shoulders, her mahogany streaks perfectly blended. Her sharp features were drawn in a scowl, and her small lips were a natural shade of red. She was dressed in white skinny jeans and a grey camouflage shirt. She hardly gave them a glance, and banged on the room next to hers. There was some stumbling and havoc inside, but the door finally opened. The guy was easily 6 feet tall, his black hair a rats nest. He was rubbing sleep from his eyes, and he stumbled out yawning. The girl drew back in disgust, and gave him a slap upside the head. He was instantly awake.
" Get dressed, Kyle. " the girl said. Cody looked at the girl next to him, and she just shrugged.
" I bet you're wondering why we brought you here. " the scary girl said, turning her attention to Cody.
" No, we came to admire the artwork. " Cody said sarcastically. The girl next to him kicked his shin.
" We'll tell you everything later. Tonight we are going to get the last one. Then we will all sit down and talk. " the girl finished simply.
" Okay, bu- " Cody began.
" Cody, learn to shut your mouth. " the scary girl snapped.
" How do you know my name? " Cody asked, ignoring the girls warning. She looked at him amused.
" I tend to study my subjects before completing my mission. " she said, a small smile tugging at her lips.
" Subjects.. right..... so...? " Cody muttered, confused.
" I'll leave you two here with Kyle. Behave yourself. " she said, pointedly at Cody. He gave her a 'what did I do? ' gesture. She smirked at him, as if to say ' I know what you're going to do. '
She waited until the guy, Kyle, came out, and then she left. Before leaving, she turned to Cody and said, " Good job. I thought the bullet would have weakened you. You fought them off well. "
Cody stared at the point where she had disappeared. How much does she know?
All three of them sat in the living room in awkward silence. Cody tried to make small talk.
