Jungkook's grip around Taehyung's throat tightened, his fingers pressing into the man's skin as he lifted him effortlessly into the air. Taehyung's hands clawed at Jungkook's wrist, his legs kicking helplessly as he gasped for breath.

Jimin's hands trembled as he reached for the gun tucked into his back pocket, his heart pounding. Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger. One. Two. Three. Four shots rang through the church, echoing off the wooden walls. But Jungkook didn't even flinch. The silver bullets, the so-called sacred weapons against creatures like him, did nothing.

Jimin's eyes widened in disbelief, his fingers going numb as the gun slipped from his grasp and clattered to the floor. His mind raced-how was this possible? Everything they had been taught, every rule they believed in, was crumbling before his eyes.

Jungkook only smiled, his sharp fangs peeking through his lips as he watched Taehyung struggle, his face turning a sickening shade of purple. The sheer helplessness in his victim's eyes was almost amusing.

Then-

"Jungkook, stop!"

The desperate cry shattered through the moment like a lightning strike. Jungkook's red eyes flickered toward the source of the voice, his grip momentarily loosening. Y/N stood up, her body trembling, her tear-filled eyes locked onto his.

"Please, Jungkook, stop," she sobbed, her voice cracking with emotion as she took a shaky step forward.

For a brief second, the monstrous aura surrounding Jungkook wavered. His expression softened as he gazed at his wife, his love.

Taehyung's limp body was discarded like a broken doll, flung across the room. His back crashed into the wooden wall before he slumped onto the floor, coughing and gasping for air.

But Jungkook didn't care.

His only focus was her.

"My love," he whispered, his voice low and reverent, as if she was the only thing grounding him.

In a blink, he closed the distance, sweeping her into his arms as if she weighed nothing. His embrace was possessive, unyielding-his face buried in her neck, inhaling her familiar scent.

"You're safe now," he murmured, holding her tight, as if letting go was never an option.

Y/N's POV

The moment Jungkook's arms wrapped around me, I felt alive again. His presence, his touch-it was overwhelming.

"Jungkook..." I whispered, clutching onto him as tears blurred my vision.

"Shh, my love," he murmured, holding me tighter. "I've got you now."

For a moment, nothing else mattered. But then, my gaze fell on Jimin, struggling in pain, Taehyung gasping for air, the fallen sacred order's men.

This wasn't right.

I loosened my grip, my heart aching.

"Jungkook..." I said, voice hesitant.

He pulled back slightly, just enough to look at me. His crimson eyes softened, but beneath them was something dark.

I glanced at Taehyung with a worried look, and Jungkook caught on instantly.

"Pathetic," he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. "You're alive because her. Otherwise, filth like you doesn't deserve to breathe."

With one swift move, Jungkook slipped his arm behind my knees and lifted me into his arms - like I was a prize he had rightfully claimed.

"Stop!!" Taehyung's broken voice echoed through the church. "You can't go with him! He's a monster!" he cried out, the pain raw in every word.

But Jungkook didn't even flinch. His steps stayed steady, his gaze locked onto my face, as if nothing else existed.

"Y/N!" Taehyung shouted again, desperation bleeding into his voice. "He's the one who... who killed your parents!"

I froze, my heart dropping.
My eyes shot up to Jungkook's face, searching for the truth.
