"Are you ready?" Jungkook's voice called from the bedroom.
"Just a minute," I replied, checking my outfit one last time in the mirror before stepping out of the closet.
"You really don't have to try so hard," he said, suddenly appearing behind me like a shadow that loved me. His lips brushed the side of my head. "You're beautiful."
I smiled as his arms snaked around my waist, his hold tightening just a little too much - familiar, firm, wanting.
"Let's go. We'll be late," I said quickly, slipping out of his grip before his intentions could slide off course.
He gave me that slow, secretive smile, the kind only I got to see, and followed me downstairs.
As we walked toward the garage, he reached for my hand and lifted it to his lips. "You remember what I told you, right?"
I nodded, playful but obedient. "Yes, sir. I'll be on my best behavior."
"Good girl," he murmured.
It had been exactly one month since I was allowed to step back into the world.
For weeks, Jungkook had kept me away - grounded, hidden, protected. I understood why. As a newly turned vampire, my hunger had been... relentless. Every human pulse I felt made my throat burn. Every scent drove me insane.
I was dangerous - to them, to myself.
"I'm so excited," I said, practically bouncing. "I really want ice cream."
Jungkook chuckled low. "You'll get your ice cream - for being such a good girl," he said, ruffling my hair.
The moment we stepped out, I felt it.
The air. The trees. The sun filtering through leaves. The distant buzz of insects.
I hadn't realized how much I missed the scent of grass. Of life.

Third Person POV
Jungkook led Y/N through the endless shadows until a towering manor emerged from the gloom. The sky above was an eternal night, scattered with dim, unfamiliar stars. Sometimes it bled red like a wounded moon; tonight, it was black velvet stitched with silver.
Y/N slowed her steps, staring at the jagged silhouette of the manor. This isn't home.
"What is this place?" she asked, her voice low with unease.
Jungkook's hand settled firmly on her shoulders as he steered her toward the entrance. "We'll stay here for a while."
"Oh?" she frowned. "For how long?"
"That," he said, his voice almost playful, "depends on you, my love."
"Me?"
"Yes," he murmured, opening the heavy doors. "We return to our realm when you learn control."
