Chapter 7

My mind flashes with visions and I shudder awake. My hands are still tied as well as my ankles and mouth. I look around my surroundings and see that Brody has left me in the same spot that where he drugged me. My head throbs as I try to sit up with elbows but my arms are too weak and I collapse back onto the ground. My eyes start to sting and I close them as I feel water pour out of them. I sniffle and try to scream but it's very quiet because it's muffled by the duct tape. I feel tears stream down my face and I don't try to stop it. I was probably raped or worse by Brody. But I can't tell anyone just keep it to myself like always. But I don't remember anything so he had to have drugged me. Arghhhhh, I can't even think.

I sit there for what feels like ages, helpless, until I hear a voice. I open my eyes a tiny bit. My vision is blurry but I can make out a figure running towards me. I groan as the figure pick me up. My eyes close back up and my head drops as I pass out.

I wake up to the sound of a steady beat. I look around and see I'm in a white room. My vision focuses more and I realise that I'm in a bed and I see someone sitting on the bed beside me. I turn my head slowly and try to open my eyes a bit more. I see that it's Tyler.

"Hi." He says giving me a little wave. I try to speak but I see that there is a mask on my mouth and nose helping me breath. Also my brain kind of hurts when I try to open my mouth. So instead I give him a smile and try to sit up but Tyler stops me.

"No, no, the doctor says to rest Alex." He says pushing me back down onto into the uncomfortable bed. I sigh and lay my head down on the pillow. Suddenly the door opens and my mum and Hanna rush in.

"Oh Alex, what happened?" Mum says wrapping her arms around me.

"The doctor says her brain will be confused for the next few hours, so she won't be able to understand things or register things because someone injected drugs into her. He also said best to keep her in the hospital for the night just so the drugs wear off." Tyler explains to my mum. She gaps when she hears that I've been injected by drugs.

"Who did it?" She says.

Brody.

I wanted to shout it out, but I couldn't.

"They don't know yet." He says. My mum sobs and Hanna gives her hug. I hate seeing when my mum is like this, it reminds me too much of my Dad. Then I feel someone slide there hand into mine. I look over and see that Tyler has covered my hand with his. Electricity shoots up my arm and I shiver. I look away trying not to make it obvious that he had that much of an effect on my body.

I wake with a start and see that Tyler is still here and has moved to the chair beside my bed. I look to my left and see that Mum and Hanna must have left through the night. I yawn and pull of the mask. I breathe in some real oxygen and smile. I sit up and pull off the covers I look down at my legs which have scratches and bruises all over them. Suddenly Tyler brings me out of my thoughts and I look over at him.
