UNEDITED

I open my eyes and smile when I realise that it's Saturday morning and I have no homework due. My smile widens when I remember my night with Tyler. But my smile vanishes as soon as it appears when I remember what happened after our moment thing.

"Kate you have the worst timing I swear." I say into the phone sighing.

"Oh what happened!" She squeals and I pull the phone away from my ear until she stops.

"Look, Kate I'll talk to you later, I've got to go, bye." I say hanging up on her. I get up wrapping the towel tightly around me as I start to walk slowly up the sandy hill to where Tyler was waiting in the car. I get in and look at him. He sits there staring ahead gripping the steering wheel really tight.

"Tyler?" I ask. He ignores me and starts the car. He drives back to my house and stops on my driveway.

"Tyler, are you ok?" I say touching his shoulder. He flinches at my touch and stares horrified at me, like I'm some kind of monster. I pull my hand away and get out of the car leaving the towel behind.

What was that about?

I head inside noticing that my mum and sister are asleep. I sneak upstairs as quietly as possible, I get undressed and dry myself with a towel, and then I get into my pyjamas and get into bed sighing as I close my eyes.

What's wrong with my life?

I sit up in bed and get ready for the day ahead, I decide to go surfing so I put my bikini on then a pair of shorts on top. I head outside before my mum can catch me.  These past few days mum has been more suspicious of me, I've been trying to avoid her and she's finally realising it.

I strap my surfboard cord to my right ankle then start walking into the cold ocean water. I see a figure in the water but I ignore it as I start to paddle into the surf. As I come closer to the figure I realise who it is and start paddling towards him.

"Tyler!" I shout. He doesn't hear me so I start paddling faster towards him. As I am about a meter away from him I call his name a little softer and he turns his head towards me. His brown hair is sticking up in every direction, his blue eyes are tired and weary.

"Hey Alex." He says quietly looking back across the sea water.

"Is everything ok?" I ask paddling closer to him.

"I don't really want to talk about."

"I'm your best friend, you can tell me everything."

"See that's the thing, we'll never be more than friends." He sighs and paddles back to shore. I sit there confused but then my mind processes what he said and I quickly follow after him.

"Tyler wait!" I quickly catch up to him and grab his arm. He swings around glaring at me. I'm taken a back and I look at him confused.

"Tyl-"

"Leave me alone." And he walks away.

I wake up feeling sick and tired. It's Monday morning and I've been lying here in my bed all weekend ignoring all of the notifications on my phone. I slowly sit up and my head immediately starts throbbing. I groan and lay back down covering my eyes with my arm. I reach over to my desk side table and grab my phone. I look over my messages and see that I've gotten 10 messages from Chloe and Kate and one message from my mum. My heart sank a bit as I realised that Tyler hadn't texted me.  As I put my phone back down I hear a knock on my door.
