Chap 32- Abhinav and Abhimanyu's fierce confrontation

Akshara adjusted her glittering dupatta once again. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, her face glowed with joy and the smile she owned was as effulgent as a thousand shining suns. She looked at the guests seated in front of her. There were about fifty of them enjoying their snacks and drinks.

"My first mini concert!" she whispered. She had so longed to be able to sing again in front of a gathering. So when Abhinav had told her about how the hotel management wanted her to sing for them, she had instantly agreed.

"Akshara," Siddhi said to her," is the mike adjustment alright?" Akshara nodded. Siddhi gave her a thumbs up and left.

"Good evening our esteemed and beloved guests," Siddhi's twin sister Ridhi announced on the mike.

"We are truly delighted to have you here this evening," Ridhi continued," we treat each one of you as our family, whether you are a first time guest or have been visiting us since ages. This evening, we have a very special programme for you. Our hotel will soon be completing fifty glorious years of its successful run. Tonight's programme is just a mini preceeding event. Please enjoy your evening! To begin with, we have Mrs. Akshara Sharma who is going to be gracing the ocassion with her charming voice."

Akshara could see many more guests entering the auditorium. Huge screens were placed all over the auditorium so that every guest could get proper visuals. Akshara's heart raced as she saw herself in every screen. Tables and chairs were placed for every guest. The guests sat in groups and were munching on their snacks.

Akshara closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She then began playing her guitar.

AKSHARA'S PERFORMANCE SONG

She sang the entire song while playing the guitar and that too with her eyes closed! She was completely absorbed in the melody. It was only when she heard the crowd clapping and cheering for her that she opened her eyes. But her happiness was cut short by the man she saw standing right in front of her.

"Abhimanyu?" she said as the guitar slipped from her hands.

"Main aa gaya hoon Akshara," he said to her with a weak smile on his lips and tears in his eyes.

"Tum yahan kaise? Kyun aaye ho yahan?" she whispered to him. The crowd was still cheering for her. She had turned off the mike so that her voice was no longer audible to them.

"Tumhare liye aaya hoon,"Abhimanyu said,"raha nahi jaa raha thaa. Bohot mushkil se mila tumhara address."

"Tumhara irada kya hai Abhimanyu?" she asked him in an angry voice.

"Pata nahi Akshara," he replied.

As she sat there looking up at him, the curtain was drawn and Abhimanyu stepped back. The fabric of the curtain separated them. She picked up her guitar and stood up. Her mind was flooded with all kinds of thoughts and memories.

"Aapne toh kamaal hi kar diya Akshara," Siddhi said," kahan chupa rakha thaa yeh talent itne time se?"

With a heavy heart, Akshara smiled and thanked her. She was then about to walk out of the auditorium when she met Abhimanyu backstage. Their eyes met for a brief moment and then she looked away from him.
