"Clean |klēn| adverb – used to emphasize the completeness of a reported action, condition, or experience. ORIGIN Old English clǣne; related to Dutch and German klein 'small'. Come clean (phrase) – be completely honest; keep nothing hidden."

"I was thinking of having this as a you-and-me time. Palaging kayong dalawa nalang kasi ang magkasama lately. I can't believe he is ultra-mega-super possessive! Seriously Yns, what's the deal between you and Sam?" Betty ranted while she rolled her eyes and dramatically waves her hands.

Her elated mood has been tampered when Sam decided to tag along with us. Sabi kasi ni Ate Therese na ang routine na plan niya ay magsisimula pa mamayang gabi and we are free to do kung ano ang gusto naming gawin for the rest of the afternoon.

"We're friends!" I answered quickly and she narrowed her eyes at me. "I mean... I'm not sure what to call it yet? He kind of—"

"Whatever, Yna! Kung hindi ka ba naman kasi manhid. Seriously, di mo parin ba gets? At yung scene niyo kanina, ano yun?"

She must mean the baggage thingy.

Tiningnan ko siya ng masama and was about to give him a piece of my mind of how rude he's been acting since lunch but I forgot what to say when he handed me my sling bag at inilapit ang mukha niya sa akin. He then whispered in my left ear, "Alam kong kaya mo pero ayaw kong makitang nahihirapan ka. If I can't carry all your burdens, at least allow me to lessen the load for you."

And how could I fight him when he does that? I can even feel the weird sensations up to my toes.

Kaya mabilis akong napatakbo papunta kina Ate Therese. Betty must have noticed kasi I'm flustered and literal ko siyang kinaladkad na parang hinahabol kami ng mga aso.

"Don't forget I'm here guys. Ako na nga lang." Betty rolled her eyes sabay kuha ng payong, raising it highly above our heads. She also looked at me pointedly. "Naku sobrang tangkad ko kasi."

"That's why ako na sabi. Ako ang pinakamatangkad satin kaya ako na." Giit ni Sam.

"Okeydokey.

I did not turn back kahit tinatawag nila ako.

I closed my eyes and breathe deeply while trying to put an explanation to every sudden burst of emotion I've been having lately.
