"Watershed |ˈwôtərˌSHed, ˈwä-| noun – an area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas; an event or period marking a turning point in a course of action or state of affairs. ORIGIN early 19th cent.: from water + shed in the sense 'ridge of high ground', suggested by German Wasserscheide, literally 'water-divide'.
"Here Yns. Take this." Kevin handed me a plate full of food. I reached for it but he already placed it right in front of me. He even took the seat right across from me without asking for my permission.
I looked at him and frowned. He just smirked and faced me squarely.
"That seat is already reserved, Kevs. I'm sorry. Thanks for the food anyways," I told him and looked around to find Betty and Tintin.
Betty had this planned. She decided and Tintin chorused that I should just wait in the table and reserve it for them while they get the food. The only vacant table is this one, which is good for four. Lahat na tables kasi ay may mga nakalagay ng bags and towels which is expected since kami ni Betty ang pinakalate na dumating. And I'm sure that Kevin has already a place to sit with for supper.
"Betty told me to sit with you though. Ang lonely mo daw kasi dito." What he probably meant is the location of this vacant table. Ito kasi ang nasa pinakasulok at madilim na parte ng cottage. "You can sure use a little bit of my company, Yna. Don't deny that," he added while eyeing me up and down.
My eyebrows shot up automatically because of this. I smiled at him and leaned slightly forward. I adjusted my seat and moved closer to the table. Then put the plate just below my jaw to obstruct his vision.
He smirked as his eyes shot at me. "As if. Kain ka na kaya para magkalaman."
Mas lalong napakunot ang noo ko dahil dun. "So what are you looking at exactly Kevin? You look someone's eyes when you talk to them, right? Mine is up here," I even pointed to my face for emphasis.
He shrugged and started to eat. "Tss. Now I know why Sam likes to tease you."
I already have enough irritants tonight. He doesn't get to add.
"Tss din. You know, kung for company lang kaya ka umupo dito, you can leave now and probably sit with one of those... girls." I pointed to the direction of Ate Therese's cousins. I intend to just look but lingered when I saw them huddling around Samuel. I can even hear them giggling. Pati si Jenny ay nakikisali din.
Ugh. Fine! If he prefers their company, fine!
"You know what, Yns? Just eat. You don't have to wait for Betty and Tin kasi nakikipag-agawan pa sila ng lechon."
I turned to look at Kevin. He's now heartily eating his meal. He sure has many pieces of lechon. He could just give the girls his share kung alam niya palang nakikipag-agawan pa yung dalawa.
But he's right though. Instead of wasting my precious time thinking of the irritating people around me, I should just eat and be merry.
Betty arrived minutes later and grumpily took the seat next to me while Tintin sat next to Kevin. "Grabe ang haba ng pila! Kulang yung barbeque nila at ang hirap pa ng agawan sa lechon! Bakit kasi isa lang eh alam ni Ate Therese kung gaano tayo ka deprived nun!"
"Oo nga. Gusto ko pa naman ng balat. Pero yaan mo na Bets. At least iwas MI. Ang takaw talaga nina Jerome at Kuya Dennis," Tintin seconded. Then she turned to me. "Mabuti pa si Yna at may tagakuha ng food," she added while eyeing Kevin.
"Heh! As if kinuhanan ako niyan kung hindi niyo inutusan," I pointed at Kevin while shooting glares at Betty and Tintin who are now happily eating their slices of lechon.
