Once the storm had cleared up they quickly went home and took Naruko to the hospital since her head was still bleeding. The doctor had told them that she had a bit of a concussion but other than that she was ok. She was allowed to go home early but she had to take it easy, much to her annoyance. Lord third was even nice enough to give her a week off from the academy but sadly she had been given extra homework make up for the days she missed.
It's been a week and several days since their camping trip. Akito, Amahi, and Naruko were in the back hills playing a game of tag. "Hey Sunshine!" Amahi shouted. "Times up! Don't forget you've still got homework to do!" "What! Can't we stay out here for a few more hours!" Naruko whined. She really didn't want to go back to Akito's house and spend hours doing her stupid homework. "No, Naruko! I was nice enough to give you a break and let you play for a while but you've still gotta get it done or else you'll be doing by yourself in detention!" Naruko knew that she would never get it done by herself so the thought of her doing it all alone in a classroom seemed like hell. Although she would never say it out loud, she was lucky that Amahi was helping her even if she forces her to do it most of the time.
She groaned. "Fine!"Akito looked at Amahi "I swear, you act like you're her mother." Ever since they came back, Amahi and Akito had tried their best to get along. They're on good enough terms for them consider each other friends. Amahi giggled. "Well someone has to keep this idiot in check." "Hey!" Naruko shouted. "Fine! If it'll get you to shut up about it, I'll hurry up and do my stupid homework." "Good" Amahi said. "Yeah, we should head back" Akito said as they walked away.
Naruko was at the table, working on her homework, with Amahi helping her. "Aconite is a shinobi flower that is commonly used in making poisons. What part of the flower is poisons? A; the petals, B; the stems, C; the root, or D; all of the above?" Naruko said reading the question out loud before whispering to herself "we talked about this a couple of days ago but I can't remember if it was A or C." She thought about the question for a moment. "C?" Amahi nodded holding up her hand. "You got it first try!" Naruko smiled, giving her a high-five. "Of course I did! I'm Naruko Uzumaki and I'm going to be the next hokage! Believe it!"
Meanwhile Yuno and Akito were washing dishes. "Son." "Yeah mom?" "Finish washing your half. You know I'm not gonna let you go to bed if you're not finished" she said sternly, feeling annoyed that Akito was watching his friends instead of helping her. "Yes mother" he said as he cleaned a plate. A smile reappeared on his face once he heard the girls laughing. Seeing him smile made Yuno smiled herself. She was happy to see that Akito's attitude towards Amahi had changed. "I'm glad to see the camping trip helped." Akito scratched the back of his head. "I guess it did help, but it was more like a big mess than a camping trip." He hadn't told her what really happened that day. Til this day he still felt awful about what happened and he doesn't need her lecturing him about what he did or how it was his fault Naruko was injured. He didn't need to feel worse than he already did. Yes he screwed up big time but he learned his lesson.
Naruko slammed her pencil on the table. "Finally! We're done! We've been at this forever!" Amahi gently smacked the back of her head. "We've only been at this for half an hour." "So what!" Yuno turned to look at them. "If you're finished then you're free to go home but if you're to tired you're welcome to stay here for the night." "No thank you Ms. Yuno. I've got stuff to do so I won't be here tomorrow" Amahi said. "I should get home too. Iruka-sensei will kill me if I'm late again" Naruko said. Yuno chuckled. "Is that true, or is it because you can't the sound of my son snoring?" "MOM!" he shouted. "Is that what that noise is? I thought it was a chainsaw" Amahi joked. "GUYS STOP!" The girls laughed while Akito was blushing out of embarrassment. Truthfully, he doesn't snore and when he does you can barely hear it, Yuno just said that to embarrass him.

The next day, Naruko was outside with her classmates. Each student was given six shurikens to try and hit one or more of the three wooden polls. It was just a simple test to see which student needed more practice. "Naruko, your turn!" Iruka called out. Ever since Amahi joined his class she's been doing better. At first he was scared that Amahi would just be a bad influence on her and that she would just go back to being a troublemaker but the exact opposite happened. He saw Amahi helping her with her homework and she would coach her through his lessons in a way that would be easy for her to understand and keep it interesting so she would listen, not just in his class but in every class they have together. Because of this her grades were improving, they weren't on top of the class or anything like that but still. Just the fact that she's actually putting an effort into something other than her pranks just shows how she's growing up. She still has a long way to go, of course, but she's doing it.
