Felix's POV
I rolled up my sleeves up to my elbow as I leaned on my swivel chair- staring at the screen in front of me. I never left the office since this morning except when I needed to go to the bathroom. I have been busy after I graduated and took over the company.
Am I selfish if I will stop everything for five minutes and rest?
It a habit of mine to never stop working unless I am finish with the task I needed for the day. I have meetings to attend to, product proposal, and needed to discuss with my team, papers works to do, and some proposals to read.
I closed my eyes as I suddenly felt a burning feeling inside it. It was probably because I was staring at the screen since this morning. Do I have a choice? I need to keep working and make sure everything is perfect.
My phone's alarm suddenly went off. There was a reminder written on it... Night out. They kept bothering me about going out with them and have a drink all night. I rejected their invitations before but they are consistent.
I took my car keys with me and drove to our usual place to go whenever we want to drink. I arrived after 15 minutes of driving. It's been so long since I went here- I admit. It felt so nice to be back here again.
"Felix!" Jisung shouted as he saw me enter the bar
I just went to him and waited for him to finish the conversation with some people. Jisung has been enjoying his life these past few years, he made tons of friends through some bar hopping which he enjoyed a lot.
We went to the VIP room where I saw our friends drinking and enjoying their moment. I greeted them all, they did greet me back. I drank. It was the same old routine we have. We would drink, sing, and talk about what is happening with our lives.
"I heard you came back recently from China?" Aziel asked Hyunjin
Hyunjin nodded, "Yeah. I didn't get to buy you guys anything. I had some things to do."
We are in good terms even after what I did to Xiu. Hyunjin and Hyunhoon never hated me for that, but after Xiu left, I rarely meet with my friends. I knew they would always include Xiu in their conversations and I hated it.
I endured being alone for years just to avoid hearing or seeing her name- anything about her. It was a success but it felt so wrong to suddenly decided to forget someone I once loved.
"Nah. It's fine. How's Xiu?" Chan asked
This is the first time I heard her name again.
"She's actually fine. I was with her the whole time I was staying there. She's like so much different from before." Hyunjin
How different?
"I bet she's prettier now." Jeongin said
"Well, she's my sister so I don't think do. She's ugly to me." Hyunjin laughed
Xiu never came back here after she left for China. I know she promised our friends and she would come back and visit but she bailed on them. She never showed up nor talked to them. How I found out? I sometimes read our group message.
The conversation about Xiu lasted for almost 30 minutes but what happened in the airport was never brought up. I guess they didn't know about it or they are just choosing to keep their silence on that sensitive situation we had.
Thanks to Minho, the topic changed. I rarely talk but I am listening to them the whole time, especially when they talked about Xiu earlier. I don't know but I guess even though I kept telling myself that I hate her- I still am curious on how life treated her after what happened.
I am glad that she is finally happy.
It felt weird. Really.
We had few more bottles and it's hitting me already. I can feel that I am no longer capable to drive my car, but I am trying to keep myself conscious and stable. I am not the only one though but some of them can still drive. Changbin and Seungmin ordered more bottles of alcohol.
I leaned my head on the back pillow of the couch as I closed my eyes. Fuck. I am so dizzy and sleepy. I can't even do this anymore.
"Felix, you okay?" Minho asked
"Yeah."
"You should stop drinking and help yourself get sober." he said
I just gave a nod.
I can't even see them properly not I can understand any word they are saying right now. I am so drunk. I want to vomit but fuck. No. I still can feel them trying to include me in the conversation but my eyes stayed shut.
How am I supposed to go home? I am so drunk. I can't even look straight. I would need to book some car to go home but I am fucking sure they wouldn't let me go.
"What the hell did you guys do to him?" a familiar voice asked
"We didn't do anything. He drank a lot and it was his fault for doing that." Changbin answered
I felt someone held my arm and tried to wake me up, "Are you okay?"
Fuck. That scent.
"Felix?" she called
Xiu.
