I am asking you.

Okay.

So, for the past few days, I have really been distracted from my exams, because I have been doing some research. No, I am not here to tell you about how worried I am about my results. Lol.

Now, what was I researching about? I was researching about whether our education system is good enough and whether people actually liked school, because I know for a fact that I don't.

It struck me right before my exams begun. We all have different though processes, culture, environments, abilities and whatnot! But why. Why are we being tested on the basis of the same thing? What else can we do? And that's where it all started.

Firstly, I researched about whether there are some people out there who actually like school. I didn't find any. I tried talking to my friends. They don't like it either. I listened to speeches made by many people and also read a lot of blogs each day.

We are not enjoying school and at the same time we really are not looking at the kids who are good at sports or art. What's the point?

I have a book called 'Saraswati's Secret River' written by Devdutt Pattnaik. And in case you didn't know, Saraswati is the Goddess of knowledge, learning and arts in Hindu mythology. It compares the education during the Vedic period (aka ancient India) and the education we follow nowadays. It's a book for kids, so its very creative and funny as well. I love that book.

And yeah, we are forced to absorb knowledge that we are not curious about and I think tests overtake the joy of learning. And I am asking you, what do you think?
