Well, let's just start off with the fact that I am an Indian... and things are not going too well here, lately. I shall explain what I THINK happened. India is a secular country. Meaning - all those who live here are free to practice their own religion. And all the people, irrespective of their belief, demand equal opportunities and attention from the government. Get an idea?

It's pretty awesome, because you never really see the word 'secular' in a lot of Constitutions around the world. Yes, we have that word in our Constitution. No one can EVER force you to stop following your beliefs unless it endorses danger to the country or to the lives of the citizens.

As a citizen of India, I see people of various beliefs every single day. Like, literally. One walk down the street and you see women wearing sarees, some wear hijabs or a pant/skirt and a top, jackets etc. While a lot of men wear formal suits, or tie up their hair in a turban, etc. So I can actually assure you that it is working.

So, in 2014, Narendra Modi was elected as Prime Minister. We were under the rule of the UPA (the name of the government run by the Indian National Congress [INC] party) government for like, more than a decade. And at least, I was not very happy with the progress they made. Neither was my family. We came to know of Modi's good deeds, etc. And before you know it, many people began supporting BJP. And just naturally, many of us voted for him and he became the Prime Minister of India. INC was really unhappy and after Modi became the PM, it turns out that INC was really not doing what they were supposed to. They were exposed  by many people belonging to BJP. Many of their bad deeds were seen by us.

So, now we all know how horrible INC has been to our country and we no longer support them.

But....

We have journalists and celebrities...

They seem to be paid or threatened by INC. Not all - but few and there are so many incidents happening.

If I read a newspaper, it spouts all kinds of fake stuff about BJP and people who are actually doing great services to people. These stuff are known as rumours, in case you didn't know.

A couple of weeks ago, a world-famous Indian actor, Aamir Khan, said India is intolerant. What the actual heck. I go to school and I study with people who come from all kinds of backgrounds. My school even allows poor people to pay less tuition fees. The  rich people contribute for the poor. I study with Muslim, Hindu, Christian and even Jain people! But we don't divide ourselves like that. For all I know, everyone around me have so many different beliefs and yet they're treated well by state.

This wasn't the only incident. Many, many others occured.

But those of you who don't live here - the citizens of India, including me, are completely tolerant. You can come here, settle down and do whatever the heck you want (unless it's dangerous to the country or to the people). No one's gonna do anything to you if you're a foreigner. Media just wants to freaking turn the world into chaos.
