Part Sixteen: A Little Unsure If This Is A Love Triangle Or Not...

School. It had to come sometime. But that didn't mean I was supposed to like it. Especially when right behind me was Zero. But Zero might not even show in class. Yuki was easy for me to handle, I didn't talk to her and she didn't talk to me. With Zero, it was like we were still communicating through our actions and just being in the same room. I was right though. Zero didn't show up for class today and I immediately knew why as I snuck in late through the door. I stopped and stared as I found Ichiru in the room.

"Sasaki? Are you going to your seat anytime soon?"

"Oh! Yes, I am. I was just surprised to find that there's a new student here." I was evidently shaking with fright and shock, as I slowly made my way to sit between Aika and Suki.

"He looks just like Zero, doesn't he?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Maybe they're twins."

"Suki, they are twins. I know that guy. It's Ichiru."

"You know what would be cool? If Ichiru also liked you, and then Zero would be jealous." I faked a laugh and hid my cherry face from blushing. It was crazy, but it was actually true. And unfortunately, I loved them both. And then, there was also Hanabusa.

Ichiru passed my desk on the way to his and you can guess what happened. He talked to me. Not that I didn't mind, but it was just still so embarrassing for me. People would talk.

"Good morning, Serena. You seem surprised at my arrival, didn't Zero tell you? Or is he still keeping secrets?"

"Zero doesn't tell me of unpleasant arrivals."

"What makes me an unpleasant arrival, I will never know." I turned away and as soon as he left, Aika and Suki started squealing. I would protect them with my life, but they were always looking at excuses to make me blush.

"He likes you!"

"Where the hell is Zero when you need him?"

"Yeah, where the hell is he?"

I actually was wondering that same thought. Why didn't Zero come to class? If anything, I'll guarantee the Headmaster let Zero have the final say. And Zero wasn't afraid of crossing paths with his brother, but still. Well into the day, Yuki came and sat with me. I didn't mind really. Aika and Suki were talking with Ichiru, like everyone else was.

"Serena, how are you doing? Better, I hope."

"I've been doing great, actually. Until last night when I saw Ze-"

I stopped myself when I realized that if I was to tell anyone of Zero and Kaname, then it would only make matters worse. I instead just decided to tell her about the other things I was doing.

"I just had really bad nightmares last night. But I have been talking a lot more with Hanabusa and my other friends, Aika and Suki. So now, I'm returning back to my old self. Just a little softer now, I guess."

"That sounds great, Serena. Are you thinking of talking to Zero anytime soon? He does miss you."

"Oh. Well, I haven't thought about it. But Ichiru does make things turn around, I guess. Maybe I might have to face Zero sooner than I thought. But I do want to talk with him."

"Um Serena? I have something to tell you."

"Is there something wrong, Yuki?"

"Last night, Kaname told me that he loved me. And I couldn't react. I didn't know what to do."

I was a little surprised that Yuki couldn't even figure that out. But I can't blame her. When someone tells you they love you, it's sometimes quite a shocker. It was for me.
