I stared at Turjo in silence. The events of the entire day flashed before my eyes. I love Turjo so much, and that's why his neglect hurts me. But I can't bear to see him and Kiara so close. Why should I? I'm his wife—I have rights over him. Why would he go to another woman?
As Turjo got up to leave, I grabbed his hand and made him sit in front of me.
— "What's wrong with you? Can't you just tell me what's going on? Why are you treating me like this? I love you, Turjo. I don't know how I ended up loving someone who has hurt me so much. Maybe some questions don't have answers. But my love for you is real."
— "Heer! The only thing I can tell you right now is that I love you more than my own life. I am not neglecting you. I just... I have no choice."
— "I'd give my life for you, but as long as I'm alive, I can't bear to see you with someone else. Even if you don't love me, you'll still be mine until the day I die. Only then can you belong to someone else."
Turjo grabbed my face, silencing me.
— "Don't even say such things, my love. When I say you are my heart, I mean it. I love you more than I love myself."
— "If you really love me, then why are you acting this way? Since yesterday, you've been ignoring me. Have you even thought about how that made me feel? Even if I put your neglect aside, do you know how it felt to see you in Kiara's room with the door shut? At that moment, I thought about leaving you. But I knew I couldn't live without you. Then I thought about ending my own life... but I didn't have the courage. I just want to live with you. I've dreamed of our life together—I want those dreams to come true. Why are you silent, Turjo? Answer me! Why are you doing this?"
Turjo lowered his head like a guilty man. His eyes shimmered, and it was clear that he was about to cry. Seeing him like this hurt me, but my pain and frustration hurt me even more.
— "Heer, I'm not deceiving you. Right now, I'm in a situation where I can't explain anything. But trust me, I could never even dream of betraying you. I just need a little time. All these misunderstandings will be cleared up. I'd do anything to protect you."
Turjo turned around and saw that Heer had fallen asleep. He had mixed sleeping pills into her food himself. He knew that if she was awake, she would question him about Kiara.
Taking a cigarette pack in his hand, Turjo walked out onto the balcony. Heer's questions weren't complicated; they were completely normal. Any woman would ask such things after seeing her husband behave this way. But the answers were complicated. If he gave her the truth, he'd have to tell her everything.
That day, when he went to pick up Kiara from her house, she went to the bathroom, leaving him waiting in her room. Just then, her phone rang. Turjo hadn't planned to answer, but since it kept ringing, he picked it up. What he heard on the other end was shocking.
— "Kiara, I never thought you could be this useless. I sent you to Turjo's house to separate him from Heer. But what did you do? Instead of driving them apart, you brought them closer! Do you even realize how badly I want to kill you right now? I'm furious with myself for trusting an idiot like you with this task. You've ruined my months of planning. I don't even want to see your face again."
Turjo sat there frozen. So Kiara was involved with this mastermind? The real plan to separate him from Heer wasn't hers—it was this mystery person's. Kiara was just a puppet, and someone else was pulling the strings. Once again, Turjo had failed to get the mastermind's phone number because the call came from a private number. But this time, he knew how to draw him out.
If Kiara had succeeded in her mission, the mastermind wouldn't have gotten suspicious and tightened security. But if Turjo pretended to fall for Kiara's tricks, then the mastermind might get careless. That would be his chance to strike.
