S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier
New York City, New York, U.S.A."Alright Miss Pym, I'd like you to place both your hands on the glass right over there." Agent Coulson said politely. He was typing away on an tablet-like device, but way more advanced. There was a clear, half a centimeter thick, glass pane on top of two long wide, and short pillars. It reminded her of a rather tall coffee table. Complying to the interesting request, Ellie moved to put both her hands side by side on the glass. It suddenly lit up like the color of liquid nitrogen, a bright, glowing, fluorescent blue. The table was essentially a large screen, extremely similar to the tablet in Coulson's hands. On the screen, it listed :
Name : Evelyn Janet Pym
Date of Birth : August 6, 1987
Place of Birth : San Diego, California, U.S.A.
Race : Caucasian
Education : Calvary Christian Academy, Montverde Academy,
University of Cambridge - Doctorate, Major in Physical Science, Minors in Advanced Technology and MathematicsClose Relations : Dr. Henry Pym, Father "Ant-Man", Janet Van Dyne, Mother "The Wasp" ( Deceased )
Status : Agent in Training
Codename : Honeybee
Abilities : None / Unknown
Ellie lifted her hands off the screen, to see that it had taken her hand and fingerprints. This technology was new. Like, year 3000 new.
"A minor in Advanced Technology my ass." She grumbled, scrunching her nose. She found Coulson standing next to her, chuckling, and an amused smile on his face.
"Does all the information look correct?" He questioned, looking back to the tablet in his hand.
"I guess so." Ellie shrugged, already feeling down because her mother was classified as "deceased". She also did not want to question her parents' names. Ant-Man? The Wasp? They were scientists, not spies, not soldiers! Just scientists. What made things better was that they were a family full of insects. Phil noticed her slight mood change, but said nothing to draw attention to it. He remembered Ellie's mother ; intelligent, caring, friendly, extremely non-judgemental, always ready to put other lives before her own.
That had lead to her death.
"Miss Pym, if you could please sign on the line, before we go any further." Agent Coulson handed Ellie a pen and, surprisingly, a clipboard with a few sheets of paper, most likely full of disclaimers.
I, ( Print Name ), hereby agree to the terms and conditions stated beforehand on this document. I fully understand the risks and consequences of working for the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.

She signed, not reading the Terms and Conditions. It was like common sense. Do not share information to loved ones or enemies, blah blah blah, don't go rogue, and don't steal any of our stuff.
"Thank you," he said, taking the pen and clipboard away from Ellie. "Now, if you'd follow me now, we're going to scan you." Phil lead Ellie down the hall to another room. Inside was a cylindrical, white compartment. Coulson had moved to a podium-like stand with another glass screen on it.
"Miss Pym, if you'd please step into the scanner." Ellie nodded, stepping into the white compartment once it had opened. It shut behind her.
"If you'd place your feet at the markers on the ground, and spread your arms out horizontally, perpendicular to the floor." She heard Coulson's voice echo through the scanner. She looked down to find two glowing shoe prints on the ground, then shuffled her feet to match the marks before raising her arms.
"Alright, once you hear a beep, stop breathing. On the second beep, you can resume." A few seconds later, she heard a low-sounding beep, and held her breath. The compartment became dark. Whirring noises happened all around her, briefly stopping, then starting again. Light blue lights were in sync with the noises, circling up, down, and around her. Ellie heard the second deep and exhaled, sighing in relief before inhaling. However, the lights did not turn back on.
"You can relax your arms Miss Pym, I need to scan your irises, so please stare at the red dot in front of you." Ellie saw a bright, entrancing red light, and seconds later, heard another low beep, taking it as a sign to hold her breathe again. Within a few seconds of whirring noises and pretty blue lights, she was able to breathe again.
The door opened, and Ellie stepped out. She had to admit, getting scanned was pretty entertaining.
"From now on, you will be asked for an eye scan or a fingerprint scan for verification if necessary." Coulson continued walking down more corridors, Ellie half a step behind him. They entered an elevator.
"I'd just like to say, it's an honor to have the chance to finally work beside you, Miss Pym." Phil said, a moment or two after the doors had closed and he had pushed a button. Ellie slightly flushed.
"Thank you, Mr. Coulson. I'm glad to already know someone as helpful and as friendly as you." There silence for the rest of the short ride, and Agent Coulson did not want to bring up the sensitive subject of her parents.
"Here we are." Coulson said, scanning a thumb onto a small pad next to a door at the end of a hallway. He continued as he opened the door. Inside was a large, warehouse like room, split into three large sections, two-way bullet-proof mirrors edging around the entire facility. It was quite impressive.
"This is our physical training facility. On the left, we have our target range, the middle section includes several large mats and rings for combat training, and to the right is the gym." Phil paused for a bit, before smiling. "I've taken the liberty to show you this place myself, even though the agents we have assigned to train you will be familiarizing you with this area."
"Who are the agents training me?"
"That's classified." Ellie rolled her eyes, as smiles came to both her and Phil's faces. Phil accessed another door. It was a locker room of sorts.
"Pym, Evelyn." He stated, walking up to the closet doors. The closet doors lit up with Ellie's name. Phil smiled.
"Go on, open the doors." He urged her. She walked up and pulled open the doors using the handles. There in front of her were three suits. The first two were much like what Agent Barton and the other agents wore, black, navy blue, and body-fitting.
"These will be used for everyday use inside the helicarrier. The other will be used for out in the field." Phil explained. Ellie looked at the other suit. It was black, with a thick yellow stripe running around each limb.
It was pretty. Very pretty.
The colors of a honeybee.
"Now." Said Coulson, turning to his new mentor, " Shall we begin?"
Hi guys!
Just to let you all know, I may not be updating for a few days after this, mainly because of *sighs* extensive traveling without WiFi. Please wish me luck on my three plane trips! ( Literally 24 hours ) Planes aren't my cup of tea necessarily.
So...
Oh my gosh, thank you all so much for all the support! This chapter is dedicated to, um, lemme think, all of you guys! All the reads, votes, and comments I see make me smile so much!
All I want to say other than "thank you so freaking much omg" is just to pay attention to the dates ;) There will be flashbacks and moments like that so just keep an eye out for them. The playlist is now up! I will be updating it every chapter.
As always, vote, comment, and share!
