Gravity

Maybe I'm naive

And maybe I'm just plain obsessed

But I must know why

You pull me like a magnet

I can't stay away

Because if I do

The others will bump and push me

But you won't, will you?

You hold me by a shoulder

And put your arm around me

Tell me to ignore them

And that there's nothing to see

The others goof around

But we walk quietly

I look up at your tall face

And you smile at me

We sit down to watch

Another pointless film

But even you, fighting back tears

Make me giggle at the sad scenes

I don't know why

You act differently around me

Or why you split candy

And treats with me

But I do know

That I can never leave

Because, not only are you special,

I'm always being pulled back to you by gravity.
