Dumbo was an elephant
who had ears that were far too big
He could fly on them
but the kids made fun of him.
Dumbo was supposed to teach us
that it's okay to be different
and Disney was reaching out
to the multiple teased children.
But Dumbo himself
was born from a stork
so for the kids who believed it was true
they had to close that door.

Hey guys, I know I don't usually do author's notes on this book, but, I just wanted to let you know about a new book I'm super excited about!
It's called "poems - because words can be beautiful" and 12 parts are already up! As you probably guessed, it's kind of related to this book, but the poems are of a different style, and much more unorthodox. In short, they don't really rhyme, and the term "poem" is used very loosely. Anyways, if you'd check it out, that would mean a lot to me!
