Narrator POV:
Officer Johnson shuffled through the bedroom of now deceased 15 year old Madison Ziegler, grave thoughts running through his head. This had been the seventh suicide this week and Johnson and his crew were having a tough time figuring out what was causing them.
Seven girls don't just kill themselves for no apparent reason, Johnson thought to himself as he opened a drawer in the teen's desk, hoping to find a note or a diary that would explain something, but it wound up being empty.
Johnson slammed the drawer shut in frustration, his mind overloading with thoughts. He hadn't been able to find anything in all seven of the teenaged girls bedrooms that could give him a lead as to why they committed suicide. No diaries, notebooks, or even a suicide letter had been found, just a deceased teenaged girl in each bedroom.
After a thorough search of the fifteen year old's room, it became clear that, like the other six cases, there was nothing that was useful in solving the case. With a sigh, Johnson left the room and exited the Ziegler household. He quickly explained the situation to the distraught parents, reassuring them that he wouldn't quit until he knew what happened.
Johnson jumped into his squad car and started it up, gripping the steering wheel forcefully. He drove off down the street, his mind wandering. Why didn't any of the girls leave a note telling why they did this? It didn't make sense.
About halfway to the police station, Johnson's cellphone rang. He quickly looked at the contact and saw that it was his partner, Officer Lewis, and he hoped that he was calling with some news. Johnson pressed answer and snapped the phone to his ear.
"What have you got?"
"You better get to the station quick." Lewis said hurriedly.
"What did you find?!" Johnson asked franticly.
"A box full of the answers we need."
:::::::::::::::Johnson pulled the door to the station open and ran inside the building, pushing past other officers and staff members. A box full of answers. This surely would give them a lead.
Johnson found his partner's office and shoved open the door, panting at the run. He found Lewis sitting at his desk, going through a small, brown box.
"What happened to these seven girls?" Johnson asked, coming around to Lewis's side so he could see what was inside the box.
Envelopes. With the full names of each girl that committed suicide. And each girl had ten letters addressed to them.
"Read the letters." He answered. "They tell their stories."
