Moving in with the Griers (On Hold)

Chapter 17

I wake up at 7:00 am. I hop in the shower and then get dressed. I decide on wearing a tie-dye tee, black leggings, and black converse. I pulled my hair into a messy bun and put on the gold heart necklace that Hayes gave me yesterday.

I jog downstairs and into the kitchen. I eat a bowl of fruity pebbles and then brush my teeth. I hear laughter coming from the basement and decide to check it out. I see Hayes, Nash, Jack G, Jack J and Cameron playing video games while Autumn and Lily are playing with Luke (my puppy).

"Hey guys." I say.

"Hi Maddie." Everyone says in unison.

"What should we do today?" I question.

"We should go to an abandoned waterpark. " Jack J suggests.

"Sounds like fun." Nash states.

"Yeah. Let's do it." Cameron agrees.

"Everyone meet at the car in 20 minutes?" Lily says.

We all agree and go to our rooms to get ready (Cam goes to Nash's room. The Jacks go to Hayes's room. Lily and Autumn come to my room).

"What should we wear?" Autumn asks.

"Something similar to what I'm wearing." I tell her.

"Okiedoke." She replies. Autumn ends up wearing a pink crop top, distressed skinny jeans and mint blue vans. Lily wears a grey Coca-Cola muscle tee, black skinny jeans and black vans.

The girls and I decide to pack a picnic. We make 10 sandwiches and a fruit salad. We throw in some fruit snacks and granola bars as well. After packing the picnic us girls go to the car. We are suprise to see the bays already there.

"What took you guys so long?" Jack G teases.

"We made food, unless you want me to go put it back inside." I resopnd.

"No. Don't do that." Hayes begs.

"Fine." I say while getting in the car. (Cameron is driving; Nash is sitting shotgun; Jack J, Autumn and Lily are sitting in the second row; Hayes, Jack G and I are sitting in the back row.) There is a little bit of small talk on the way to the waterpark.

"Woah, this looks cool. I'll race you guys inside." He says getting out of the car. We all fall out of the car.

"Ready. Set. Go." Nash says taking off.

We all start running towards the entrance. Nash and Hayes were in the lead. I was right behind them with Lily and Autumn behind me. Behind them were the Jacks and Cam. We jump over the entrance gate.

"Where should we go first?" Nash asks.

"That waterslide." Hayes suggests pointing at a big pink waterslide.

"Or that one." Autumn suggest pointing to a blue waterslide.

"The pink one." I say.

We all walk over there. One on the top, we take pictures and decide to have our picnic on the blue waterslide that Autumn suggested. We climb up and eat. After eating, Jack G asked to talk to me alone. We walked over to the cars.

"What did you want to talk about?" I ask.

"Rember the meet and greet before your birthday a while ago?" He says.

"Yeah. The one where I ran of stagen right." I reply.

"Yeah, anyways when I comforted you after the fight we kissed." He told me. Oh. The kiss.

"I remember. What about the kiss?" I question.

"It's just that we never talked about it. I know it happened a long time ago and I have Lily now, but I can't stop thinking about it." He explains.

"I guess we should talk about it." I tell him.

"What did it mean to you?" He questions.

"I don't really know. What did it mean to you?" I ask.

"I don't know either." He tells me. I see the others begin to walk towards the car.

"Can we talk about this later? The others are coming." I ask.

"Sure." He replys with a slight smile.

The others reach the car. We pile in and drive home.

Once we are home the boys go to Nash's room and the girls come to mine. I change into a pair of grey joggers and leave my tie-dye tee on. I am exhausted. We eat pizza for dinner. I brush my teeth and go to bed.

How did I get in this car. Wait a minute... I know this car. Its my parents car, the one we crashed in. I hear people talking, but I can't see anything. I can't make out words it's all just mumbling. I try to make out words.

"When are we going to tell Madison about the baby?" A woman says.

Now I can see. The woman talking was my mom, minutes before the accident. We were at a red light at an intersection. Then the light turns green and my parents start driving, but a semi truck came from the right side and hit the front part of our car. It sent us spinning and we got hit by two other cars.

That's when I woke up. I was screaming and sweating. Hayes, Nash, Cameron and the Jacks barge into my room. They are all carrying baseball bats. Once they notice I had a bad dream they drop the bats and rush to my side. I don't look at them.

"Maddie, are you okay?" Nash asks.

I try to say something. I am telling myself to say something. I can't. I open my mouth, but the words don't come out.

"Madison. Maddison! Maddie!" Hayes shouts trying to get my attention. I look at them.

"My parents are dead. I was with them when they died. They were driving me to my volleyball tournament. It's my fault that they're dead." I blurt. I start uncontrollably crying.

"No Maddie, it's not your fault. Don't ever say it was your fault." Hayes tells me. The boys, Autumn and Lily are now hugging me.

"My parents were going to tell me something. Something about a baby." I say once my crying stops.

"Do you think your mom was pregnant?" Nash asks.

"Maybe." I reply.
