We pull into the driveway at 9 o'clock a.m.
"Ready to go in?" Elizabeth asks.
"I guess," I reply
We get out of the car and Elizabeth grabs 2 of my suitcases. When Elizabeth knocks, Nash opens the door. I don't fan-girl because i'm still depressed.
"Hey mom, where have you..." Nash begins to say but then he sees me, "Who's she?"
"Nash, do you rember my friend Lucy?" She asks. Just hearing my moms name makes me want to cry. Once again I feel tears coming, but this time I blink them away.
"Yeah, why?" He replies.
"Well this is her daughter, Madison, you guys use to play together. She is the same age as Hayes." Elizabeth tells him.
"I still don't understand why she is here. Not that I don't want her to be here, its just that they live in New York." Nash says.
"Well Madison is going to be living with us, permanently." She tells him.
"Why?" Nash asks.
"Both my parents died in a car crash. I was the only one who survived. That's why i'm in a wheelchair." I say. Yes I was the only survivor. The semi-truck driver wasn't wearing a seat belt and went through the windshield. The other one car that hit us only had a driver and one passenger, both people died. The last car that hit us only had the driver, she died.
Nash suddenly looked sad. "I'm sorry."
"Its not your fault." I say. just then Hayes appears. His stunning blue eyes widen.
"Hayes, can you help Madison to the guest room next to your room." Elizabeth says.
"Sure." Hayes says.
He pushes my wheelchair into the house.
"Do you want a tour before we go upstairs?" Hayes asks me.
"Sure." I say.
He shows me around downstairs and then bridal style carried me up the stairs, then went to get my wheelchair. He showed me where Skylynn's room was as long as Nash's, Elizabeth's, His, and finally mine. My room was completely empty. The walls were white and the floor was hardwood.
"By the way we share a bathroom." Hayes says.
"OK." I respond,
"Hayes, come help move Madison's stuff upstairs!" Elizabeth yells.
Hayes suddenly looked confused. "I'm moving in." I tell him.
He looks a little less confused but said, "OK, well i'm gonna go get your stuff. I'll be right back."
Nash, Hayes, and Elizabeth moved all my stuff upstairs and into my room.
"We'll go and get furniture for your room tomorrow, OK." Elizabeth says.
"OK, but where do I sleep?" I ask.
"My room." Hayes suggests. Did I hear that right? I'm gonna sleep in Hayes's room tonight!
"Sure, is that OK with you?" Elizabeth asks.
"Yeah." I reply.
Everyone leaves except Hayes.
"Do you need help with moving around? I could push your wheelchair if you need me to." Hayes tells me.
"Um... sure. I was gonna go in my room and look through some stuff. Wanna come?" I say.
"Why not." Hayes replies.
Hayes pushes me into my room. Next to me is a stack of small boxes. I pick up the first one and open it. Oh no. I feel tears coming as I pick up what was inside the box, pictures. The first one is of my mom and dad. I start crying. I can control it, the tears just keep falling. Then I feel someone hug me.
~HAYES'S POINT OF VIEW~
I push Madison into her room. She picks up a small box next to her. Once she opens it I can tell she was going to cry. She's too pretty to cry. When I first saw her, her eyes were bloodshot, like she had been crying. Her long, light brown hair was up in a high ponytail. She had a bruise on her forehead and was in a wheelchair, but she was still beautiful. Then she holds up a picture, it was of her parents. She starts crying. My first reaction was to hug her, she immediately hugged back. We must have stayed like this for hours. She cried herself to sleep in my arms.
I carried her into my room and laid her in my bed, then put my blanket over her. I put her wheelchair next to her. I was about to leave when I heard Madison say my name.
"Hayes."
"Yeah." I respond.
"Please stay." she pleads.
"Sure thing."
I sit on the floor next to my bed and hold her hand. I think I like Madison, no, I know I like Madison.
