"What the heck do you mean by 'Amaka is missing'?" Idara's frantic voice echoes through the walls
"Her roommate said she's not been in the room since Thursday"
"WHAT? And they didn't think to report it?" She yells even louder at the poor girl that delivered the message
The latter has her eyes fixed on her painted toe nails as she shakes beneath Idara's fiery gaze
"Dammit" Idara mutters as she shuffles her feet hurriedly into her flip flops, shoving the girl aside slightly as she hurries out of the room
"Follow me!"
AMANDA'S POV
(Amanda Aderinsola Akinde)"Trip wake up"
"Hmmm"
"Tripp" a voice calls as the owner continues to annoyingly tap my arm
"Whattt?" I mumble half asleep- is it even morning yet
"Open your eyes Trip"
"Oh God" I turn away from the voice to face the wall, hopefully blocking the disturbance
"Amanda!" The anger laced tone jolts me up
"Yeah I'm up I'm up" I spring up, rubbing my eyes as I yawn
"Nana? What are you doing here?" I stare confusedly at the half dressed girl standing in front of my bed space
"Amaka is missing"
"Hmm?" My face scrunches up in confusion- how does that have to do with me?
"They've not seen her since Thursday, her roommates are saying maybe she left school but nobody knows where the hell she could have gone"
"Left school?" I let out a sigh as I adjust properly to the bright room "Why would she leave school without telling anyone?"
"Are you asking me? How would I know!" She says frantically with her eyes expanding out of their sockets
"Have you asked Nkechi? Maybe they're just up to their usual shenanigans, when have they ever stayed in one place?" I shrug, not getting why she's making the issue so serious
I mean- it's Amaka we're talking about here, when has being in a whole new city in a whole new state stopped her from getting around?
"Nkechi is here, and she hasn't seen or heard from her too. She mentioned to her that she might be meeting with some old friends but that was since Thursday and no one actually knows if she went or didn't"
"Then relax Nana, Amaka will be fine. She knows what she's doing- she probably even knows Lagos more than any of us. Is it not Amaka again?" I say tiredly as my eyes dart over to the wall clock- it's 6:45am
