TOKE'S POV
(Adetoke Karen McAnthony)

"Just go over the complex molecules like starch and all that, asides that I think we're through" Erling says over the group video call

"I heard something like there's going to be some computer questions, how true is that?" Aidan asks, yawning for the third time this evening

"Yeah there's gonna be a combination of science subjects so that's probably true" I reply, rubbing my eyes as well

"Are you sleepy?" Erling asks, directing the question at me

"Come on everyone is, this call has been on for almost three hours" Nancy groans tiredly

"You're complaining? Wasn't this your idea?" Noel says jokingly

"Oh shut up" she replies, they go on with their usual banter, Erling and Espn chipping in their own contributions while I observe, enjoying the racket just a little

"Aidan post the summary Mr Lawal sent to you on the group" I say, jotting down a little note at the edge of my exercise book

He doesn't reply, his mind seems not be at the call

"Aniye!" I call his name to alert him, causing the entire team to keep quiet waiting for his response

"I'm sorry what?" He replies as he jerks back to life

"Send Mr Lawal's summary to the group" I repeat

"General group or the one for six of us?" He asks

"The one for six of us" I reply in a 'duh' tone

"Yeah no problem" he yawns again "can we end the call now tho, I'm really tired"

The group agrees, each person chipping in their own 'Yeah me too' and 'goodnight'

Each person leaves the group but for some reason I wait for them, till its just Erling and I left on the call.

"You no wan sleep?" He chuckles tiredly

"I'm going now" I say with an eye roll

"Goodnight child, see you tomorrow" he says, a yawn making his statement not totally audible

"Goodnight" I reply, waving to the camera

My mouse hovers the red button before I finally click on it, ending the call with a deep sigh

This night brings so many memories

It's been three years

Erling and I used to be best friends, inseparable in fact. People used to say we were fraternal twins with the same brain. He was the more social and outgoing one, while I was more of the quiet and indoor one- the perfect combination. We met in nursery school actually, I resumed a week before him so I thought it was my duty to explain the dress code to him and how he was ruining it by flying his collars and leaving his shirt untucked. I remember his exact reaction when I tried to dress him right
