Theme Fantasy Retellings
The month of September brings us an anthology filled with familiar stories woven into unique ways. Once Upon a Dimeis a collection of stories about our favorite bedtime stories, fairy tales, and legends—all with new spins and twists.
Within this anthology, we want stories that retell a well-known or unfamiliar fairy tale, legend, or children's story across many cultures. Tales featuring parallels to classic and beloved plots as well as inventive perspectives are welcome. Rejected first loves, true enemies' kiss, and evil fairy godmothers—incorporate these elements into an old yet new story to entertain the future generation of readers.
Make a wish to the stars, fight evil enchantresses, and kiss the nearest amphibian. The world of grim fairy tales awaits you.
Suggested Subgenres
High Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Fantasy Romance Note: Other subgenres can be present as long as the story fits the theme.
